Hi all, hope you're well. i decided to just check in, let u know how things are going and whats working and whats not. please feel free to add coments, tips or questions.
Bulking: i have been training hard for 6 weeks. i have put on 3/4 stone (not sure in pounds). people arealready commenting on healthy glow and improved stature! training twice a week weights (individual body parts) and cardio 1-2 times per week.
diet: well i'm eating a copious amount of fat and have lots of energy always. i eat my own made butter (from creme fraiche) and lots of fermented foods and kefir protein shakes made from goats milk which i'm sure is really helping to form perfect looking stools!! i eat fruit in the morning and cooked fruit cople of hours before bed so keeps things ticking nicely without overpowering digestion. also i've been using slippery elm root powder before meals so i'm sure that helps. i also eat only fish on training and post training days and take a break in between
skin:
since i started making my very fermented yogurt and kefir and butter and lots of ghee my skin has been very soft smooth and supple. i've started getting spots though even though my tongue is pretty clear in general and digestion good. it could be the extra calories or hormones from the training so not sure about that one. i'm also sleeping much better. could be sugar which i know i'm pretty sensitive to.
on the whole i'm doing very well especially after following shellys advice and reading nourishing traditions.. i know i'm on the right track now..finally..

Hi smooth,
I'm glad to hear your various successes.
I'm particularly interested in your weight gain. that is ALOT of weight gain. I am trying to put on muscle myself but it's not going very wel.
I would like to know, how much protein and fats do you take and your stats to get an idea of how much protein and fats i should get myself.
I would greatly appreciate it if you could share these information with me.
Many thanks |

hi buffboi sorry for the late reply,
my diet consists of lots of fat. i would estimate at least 1500-2000 cals of fat, from good quality sources. this is ghee, cultured butter which i churn myself from full fat creme fraiche. i find this gives me lots of energy while not overpowering my digestion. i have lots of raw egg yolk too and and i think my protein shake has a lot do with it. this is my diet routine on a training day:
fruit in the morning like papaya or pineapple with a goats yorgurt lassi with creme fraiche added
1 hour later when hungry again fermented rice with 3-4 tbspns cultured butter and nutrtional flakes
post training i have my protein shake which 400 ml goats kefir with tbspn raw honey, teaspoon glutamine, 2 tbspn nutrional yeast, 2teaspoon cinnamon, 6 egg yolks and some rice milk to thin it down. i use a protein shaker so i just give iyt a good shake.
i will have fish curry and rice twice that day and finish a few hores before bed time with another protein shake but without all that honey and then some fruit compote.
i only train for an hour at a time. absolutelty no longer than that as you do more harm than good when u want to bulk up. i train chest, bi's and tri's on monday and then shoulders and back thursday. i try and incorporate a couple of days of cardio in between and have low calory vegetarian days on days away from training to give my stomach to catch up and start feeling hungry again!!
hope all this helps

weighing about 78kg.. i do take tons of lecithin granules to digest the fat.. i think though that good fats are not the cause of fatty liver. in fact it probably helps to keep the liver clean from stagnant bile.. all i know is that my skin has never been softer in the last 10 years and digestion and elimination are good too .. keep u posted..

Hi smoothcriminal.
Its great to hear your success story, and well done for bulking so well.
How many raw eggs do you eat each day?
Is there any special preparation or measures you take to reduce the chances of bacteria poisoning from them? e.g. storage/washing?
Which kind of eggs do you use, and where do you buy them?
Sorry for all the q's but I'm inspired by your success and have been thinking about starting raw eggs for a while but am a bit apprehensive.
Keep up the good work.
Also, Shelley (or anyone), what is the difference between raw eggs and cooked eggs in a digestability and nutritional sense? I've read that cooked egg protein is much more digestible than raw?
Thanks,
Diggler. |

hi diggler,
no probs would love answer as many q's as poss..
i train heavy weights twice a week so on the day and after the day of training i have two shakes a day, once after training and then later in the evening (as it suits me). each shake has at the mo 6 egg yolks only. i dont use the white at the mo because i dont want to risk any bacteria and also its harder and longer to digest.
the only preps i take is to buy continually fresh organic eggs every two days and make sure that the whites are pretty viscous. also when u first start raw eggs u should take one a day only to adjust to the bacteria. after three days or so you can increase otherwise you can get what i call "the cleansing reaction" or the shits. i use well fermented goats yogurt too which is great.
all in all you would be surprised how easy it is to drink raw eggs. i use to cringe but in actual fact its much easier to consume than cooked eggs and you get all the benefits of the top quality undenatured amino acid profiles and vits and mins that comes with mother natures top food source. In order to build muscle the most efficient way is to eat the muscle that closest resembles it - human flesh. But because thats not acceptable, gross and sick in the most demented sense the thing thats next best is eggs. it has every thing you need, at the end of the day it provides life..
enjoy
