Tea is powerful medicine. It's cheap, easy, and sometimes quite tasty! Since we need to make an effort to stop drinking so much coffee, black tea, sodas and iced drinks, herbal teas help us move in that direction as well as solving actual challenges for cleansing, detoxing, getting more minerals, digestive aids, you name it! Very Happy

I highly recommend that everyone stock their pantry with a good variety of digestive teas and make them a habit. In the summertime use the tea bags to make Sun Tea, they will still have their healing power.

Here are some of my favorites:

Digestive Aids

Fantastic for Pitta people and Pitta disorders, also gas and bloating, this tea was formulated to help us digest after we've eaten too much and have an uncomfortable full feeling for much too long. But you can drink it prior to a meal, or in between meals, because the peppermint, ginger and fennel is so wonderful for the stomach, liver and small intestine. Fennel is a very mild, non-dependency forming laxative too. Since it has cinamon, it's also suitable for pungent therapy - and it tastes great!

Eater'S Digest :: 16 bags

Another for gas/bloating plus acid indigestion, which is usually liver stress:

My favorite ginger tea:

Tea, Ginger Aid, 16 ct.

My favorite peppermint tea, it needs no sweetener. It is sweetened with licorice.

Tea, Egyptian Licorice Mint, 16 ct.

For pungent therapy/increasing the power of digestion:

Yogi Chai Tea, 1.27 oz

Tea, Classic India Spice, Part Org., 16 ct.

Yogi Chai Green Tea, 1.27 oz

colds/flu
For sore throat:

Tea, Throat Coat, Lemon Echinacea, Bags, 16 ct.

Yogi Throat Comfort Herbal Tea, Organic Caffeine-Free, 16.00 ct

For respiratory distress (cold/flu, asthma) - an aid that doesn't have ephedra, which makes the heart race uncomfortably. This tea relies on Thyme's natural abilities to relax the bronchial tubes and soothe them at the same time. Be sure to breathe the steam as you drink it.

Breathing Thyme :: 16 bags

For urinary tract cleansing, when you don't want to drink cold cranberry juice:

Cran-Aid Tea :: 16 bags

Sleep aid:

Tea, Nighty Night, 16 ct.

Misc:

Joint Comfort :: 16 bags

Detox :: 16 bags

The Classic Indian Spice tea by Yogi is absolutely delightful.

I'm wondering if all these teas are suitable for Candida diets especially those with things like licorice or date powder that might be constituted as sugar?

The digestive teas like India Spice are ESSENTIAL for candida. Cinnamon is a wonderful yeast killer and really prevents putrefecation.

Date sugars should be avoided, and licorice should be limited during the first month, but the candida diet is SO very cleansing and SO very long-term, that you really do need to cycle in what herbalists call "tonifying" herbs every now and then. If your tongue is clear or any coat, licorice should be okay. Smile
