Hello Shelley, happy new year to you!
I have a little problem..
I ate a little chocolate, small amount, during the christmas days and that was a big mistake. I wake up everyday feeling "drunk" and I have that feeling and brain fog 24/7. I have done every liver management possible but nothing helps, not even a bit. I guess that I must have fed the candida quite a bit.
What should I do? nothing, really nothing helps. |

What kind of chocolate exactly? Some kinds, like fudge, don't disintegrate and really stick to the intestines, requiring mild laxatives and/or fiber to force them out.
If you're reacting to the sugar hangover, not much you can do but eat protein, drink lots of fluids, take some zinc or a multi-mineral and some B's to replenish what the sugar and chocolate stole. Usually one Emergen-C and a couple drops of trace minerals are all you need. |

Hi Shelley
I had so bad brain fog/hangover that I decided to do a flush and several mini flushes, and I begin to feel normal again. I think my liver is seriously congested, I havent cleansed it for over a year. But I guess that the liver would congest quickly of there is candida and leaky gut.. So I have to start all over again I guess.. |

| It can congest quickly when you have leaky gut because nothing gets truly exited, the junk just gets recycled over and over and over until it builds up. Being deficient in choline (which is in lecithin) and EFA's also doesn't help. Taking lecithin, B vits and increasing the power of digestion while doing the slow liver cleanse should set you to rights, that plus the leaky gut protocol. |

Thanks Shelley!
For my liver cleanse I have ordered julias herbs, GCG and coptis and I will do flushes and mini flushes. Is it ok to use Milk thistle at the same time as Julias herbs? Im afraid that the Milk thistle will "take out" the other herbs from the liver, if you know what I mean, since MT detoxifies substances from the liver? |

| One of Julia's herbal tinctures for the liver already has milk thistle if I remember rightly, but either way it's okay, they all work together. Milk Thistle helps detoxify but it also coats and protects and stimulates the growth of new cells, really amazing stuff. Just don't take for longer than 4-6 weeks at a stretch, because it is soooo powerful that it can cause cancerous cells to also grow faster. |

Hm, I think I must wait with the tinctures for awhile the alchol is too much for my liver, I become foggy in the head. So my idea is that I use the plain herbs, powdered. I take the roots and put in a coffe grinder
Is this a good idea?
Also, is there a difference between Chinese Gentian root (which Julia uses in her tinctures) and Gentian root (Gentiana lutea, which I found at the healthfood store?
Thanks a bunch! |

The only difference is where it's grown, and that does cause some differences in strength and type of the active alkaloids but not much. Gentien is still gentien.
If you can get the pure roots go for it. If you can't, then yes, powders in pill form are best for people who are sensitive to alcohol. |
