Hi Shelley,
ok, thank you for replying to the other post about the black/green stool, oh man, that scared me a lot, but both my husb. and I had it after that Boston Market meal, which was the only thing that kept me sane! Do you know, it's taken an entire week to really get over this? And even still, I dont' feel to good, and my stomach (not the intestines) feels "full", like I dont really feel like eating, that's gone on now for about 3 days, it's weird. Then, I stupidly looked all this up on the internet, (well, actually, for me, its a double edged sword, bec. the kind of person I am, i need to know what's going on, so in that way, at least i get info.) - but they said things like stomach cancer, colon cancer, which makes you feel full! Now, to add to that, the last few days, I've been kind of constipated, only able to go about once a day when i first get up, and even then, just very little, but at least the stools are back to normal color now! HOWEVER, the newest little developement, is that now, I have this mucousy stuff wrapped around the stools, with a little drop of blood in the mucus. The mucus is ON THE OUTSIDE of the stools, not the inside..it seems the mucus itself looks almost "ruddy" color, like rust....with a little streak, or small drop of blood in the mucus.
OK, what would that be? I know you don't know, what I mean is, what does that SOUND like? My girlfriend has this also. She,apparently, has been getting that for a while, and gets it about once a week or so,...I have only just started with this now, for a few days. Actually, well, now that I think about it, it's been a little more than a week. I started with this, a few days before the Boston Market incident. I noticed, that, if I take some toilet paper, and gently just "touch" the anus, or "wipe" very very lightly, ONE AND A WHILE i see a TEENY drop of blood, WITHOUT having gone to the bathroom yet. Now, is that anything to be worried about?
From what I've heard from other people, that is probably a hemmroid, since the blood is bright red, and it's only a very little bit. But, i know that hemmroids can actually bleed A LOT as well, so I don't know. My husband, from time to time, will have blood pass with his stools, and not just a tiny drop, either. But, when he went to the VA, back in Oct., the dr. did a manual check of his rectum, and found nothing.
I then looked up ulcerative colitis, and they say, that the stools can have mucus around them, with a little blood! (and that the onset could be gradual), which to me, meant, IF this WERE that, it may just be the beginning, and may gradually build up! Now, I deal with lots of intestinal issues, which you know. I never really did, only recently, say, within the last year, when perimenopause REALLY KICKED IN. Since then, I've had intestinal issues, but not like the last 5 mos. I 'd say....and especially, not LIKE NOW! So, after all this, what do you think? You know me, i'm trying not to be overdone here, and yes, i have joined a few perimenopausal sites, which are of GREAT help, .... but, I don't know if mucus and a little bit of blood around your stools is a "peri" issue, if it's hormonal, you know? I know the hormones can effect SO DARN MUCH, and make you think you're dying, when you're not. This is why I come here, to get your opinion. On March 12th, i have my yearly GYN appt. for the PAP and pelvic aand all...i will tell him then, I JUST HOPE i don't still have this, and feel this sick! Shelly, just tell me if you think this sounds at all like colon cancer? Like I said, I DO have that full feeling in my stomach as of a few days, i DO have that feeling like i have to move my bowels, when nothing comes out, I dont' feel like eating right now (but my son seems to have that right now too).....I don't know....could this all just be plain old IBS? but what about the mucus (which i do know is IBS related) and tiny bit of blood in the mucs, that can't be IBS, can it?
ok shelly, thanks for reading all this, and I'll check back here frequently to see what you said!
Sincerely, Starlight |
