I was watching the news today and they were doing a story on sleep apnea. My parents and other relatives have had the sleep study and some are on the CPAP.
I got to thinking that 5-10 years ago we never heard about this ailment. No one was wearing weird things on their faces to get a good night's sleep. What could be the cause of this? Is there a natural cure?
I know that in the "olden days" there were many ailments that plagued people, but they were "irradicated" by immunizations. But now we see so many problems that people have that was never heard of back then. I know the chemicals and processing of foods play a big part, but is that the cause of all of the things that people suffer with today?
Just curious!

It depends on the cause. Part of the reason no one ever heard about it before is because there was no mass communications and people sucked it up. Part of being a Yankee (or true Southerner) was never complaining. The Farmer attitude was all about being a Job. All that has changed - our attitude now is to be the best we can be. Before, it was all "God's will" and who were we to question God?
There are real mechanical reasons for poor sleep - poorly constructed nasal passages due to poor nutrition and stress during certain stages of pregnancy. That coupled with poor diet and tons of environmental toxins and autoimmune disorders completes the picture.
But a LOT of people COULD be getting a good night's sleep IF they were not stress-junkies, ate adequate Skin Food, paid for a decent bed, quit caffeine, cleansed their sinuses with a Neti Pot, ate plenty of Turkey/Tryptophan, and got a series of chiropractic adjustments. AND of course, IF they got plenty of exercise!!! When you've been plowing all day, it' doesn't matter if your sinuses are plugged up, you WILL sleep! LOL! |
