So, today I started on the part of the slow liver flush that calls for pressed garlic and ginger mixed in 1 tablespoon of olive oil, chased by peppermint tea or cleansing drink. I felt EXTREMELY nauseous afterward and I'm still burping up garlic over 16 hours later. I had to force down the amaranth porridge afterward. I haven't felt hungry all day and have had to force myself to eat. Is this normal? Or can I skip the garlic and ginger?
I've already done two rounds each of cleansing carrot salad (7 days each time) and cleansing cocktail (7 days each time). Also drank a box of Yogi Detox Tea over the course of two weeks and am finishing up a bottle of milk thistle. Not to mention all the cleansing drinks, etc.
My aunt died earlier this year of pancreatic cancer, which spread to the liver. She was diagnosed this time last year and died about two months later. I want to take care of my liver now. |

I definitely get all-day slightly garlicky burps after the slow liver cleanse...
I wonder why it does that too! |

Don't ever force yourself to eat. If you have no appetite, you can't digest it properly anyway. Only people who are anemic or very lwo weight should force eat despite a lack of hunger.
Yep, it's a pretty normal reaction. You can cut out anything you like in order to make it more comfortable for you. As long as there is a bit of oil and a glass of juices you're getting things moving quick enough. The garlic and ginger are extra helpers. It could be it's simply too much fiber, you can try pressing the ginger and garlic with a garlic press for the juices and just add in the juices, or omit entirely. |

| The Cleansing Drink (for general/overall cleansing) and the Cleansing Cocktail (specifically for liver cleansing) are two different things. Both are in the Essential Recipes portion of the FAQ. |

Sorry. The Cleansing Cocktail is not in the FAQ. It is in the Vital Cleanse:
www.askshelley.com/editor/vital_cleanse.htm
The Cleansing Drink is in the Essential Recipes FAQ, as well as the morning cocktail cleansing concoction (doesn't have a name) under the Liver/Spleen Management FAQ. There are so many options for these things, you really just need to take a few days and read through all the FAQs, stickies, etc. I started by following the Vital Cleanse as laid out by Shelley and then after 3 weeks or so of that started supplementing with the Essential Recipes, slow liver cleanse, etc. I started on October 9, haven't cheated, and feel much, much better (except for some lingering constipation issues, which I understand takes lots of time).
Good luck to you. |
