Hi Shelley and other posters Smile

I am a long time candida sufferer in addition to MCS (multiple chemical sensitivities) who believes, like many, that a mind/body/spiritual approach is necessary to living a healthy, happy life. In addition to all the necessary cleansing, supplements and diet, I believe we need to take care of our mind and spirit. I believe our mind, body and spirit are interconnected. For instance, if we stress our body by not eating healthy or living in stressful circumstances (workplace or home life) for long periods of time our body begins to break down. Our bodies can adapt to short-term stress, it is the longterm stressors that kill. Our immune system can ensure our health longterm only while it is being nurtured through a combination of diet, exercise and activities that promote a health state of mind.

Unfortunately (for some of us) we do not recognize that we are stressing ourselves because we have lived with stress for sooo long. It would profit many of us to examine and re-examine our lives periodically for possible stressors. Our bodies can manage degrees of stress, but not on an ongoing basis -- EACH OF US require at least SOME time for ourselves.

While I always believed in this mind/body/spirit approach in theory, I did not take care of myself in practice. I did not have to work in order to ensure my health because I assumed it would always be there. Then one day it was no longer there Crying or Very sad

I began Qigong, which is a calming, mediatative exercise, about 2-3 weeks ago. My outlook on life has improved tremendously. It is still early days and I look forward to improving my perspective on life and therefore my health to a larger extent. Sometimes I cry while doing this mediatiative exercise. I feel that it unearths long pent-up emotions and thoughts that I was not acknowledging.

I recommend this exercise/meditation for others, particularly for those with longterm candida. This meditative exercise has a focus that is geared to the improvement of everyone's health, particularly for those with serious health problems. It is based on releasing energy blockages in the body. These blockages are believed to be causing illness whether physical or emotional.

I am including a website wherein you can find Spring Forest Qigong: www.LearningStrategies.com
A 1 800 number is also available (1 800 735 8273).

Shelley: Should this post be posted elsewhere...wasn't exactly sure since it is geared towards overall health.
Have you heard of this meditative exercise? If so, what are your thoughts on this form of meditation? Smile

Spiritual Health to All Very Happy

A couple of months ago, an accupuncturist up in Seattle showed me how to do a Qigong exercise that would help me clean out my burdened liver. It involved standing barefoot on an exposed root of a big and old tree. The movement was slow, graceful and therapeutic, and I cried through it every time even though my mind was blank when I did the exercise. I always felt better afterward, and my liver felt a little lighter and a little less stressed after each session. I agree that Qigong is a wonderful thing. Very Happy

Trees are terrific experts to have on one's team. After all, they know how to live for hundreds of years. Wink And they're very supportive of all life. Smile

I've been practicing this Qigong for a couple of weeks and have to report it's truely fantastic. Takes a little while to get the reverse breathing, but it's worth it.

I feel this qigong has really helped me to stay balanced during my cleansing.

There's a site somewhere that shows you the basic exercise. i'll post it when I find it again!
