All my life I have had a line bisecting your tongue that went from front to back and looked so deep my tongue was going to divide, plus I had a very red cracked tongue and white *road map* looking squiggles along the sides.

Since my recent bout of illness I was told the line bisecting your tongue was a massive B deficiency (I am vegetarian) and I have gone onto a big multi-B replacement, amazingly for the first time in my life my line is disappearing, I wish I took a before picture for you.

I am Pitta and as a teen an acupuncturist told me the redness and cracks on my tongue indicated to me that I had massive internal heat *pitta?*.

Does a line bisecting your tongue mean Vitamin B deficient? Deep cracks mean internal heat?

well we usually attribute cracks to Vata and yellow coat to Pitta. Pitta is all about the bile and small intestine. Cracks represent the actual tissues, and for something to be dry and cracked is very much Vata derangement (cold, dry), not heat. An acupuncturist tho would most likely have been speaking from a Chinese perspective which is way different.

The line bisecting the tongue represents emotions stored along the spinal column. People with scoliosis usually have a curve in that line representing the curve in their spine. One of my roommates in college had scoliosis that she never bothered treating because she was too vain to wear the brace and she had that kind of tongue line.

But if it's really really deep and long, then yes that involves a deficiency of B's and other skin food. The epithelium tissues and nervous system tissues are quite dependent on the B's, one of the reasons they are one of the few vits I recommend supplementing via Emergen-C occasionally. Constant Mega-dosing is rarely safe, very stressful for organs because they have to excrete them. The body can only absorb and utilize so much at a time, the rest become more trash for it to deal with.

Have you ever been tested for B12 deficiency? You may want to get B vitamin shots. When the tongue is that bad, shots are often better than trying to digest the nutrients.

And you might want to consider nutritional enemas.

The Doctor (GP) tested me for all levels of vitamins and mineral deficiencies and all came back clear. When I had iridology done and my tongue checked etc by a Naturopath I showed so many deficiencies. I also had live blood cell testing done at Aus Biologics:

http://www.australianbiologics.com.au/

And they showed my wheat intolerance, Candida, liver toxicity and lymphatic congestion, vitamin deficiency (plus a host of other problems not so severe). I have little faith in the medical system here in Australia as they kept me in hospital feeding my wheats and all the foods that made me worse.

Since going on Magnesium, Multi-B and C plus calcium and probiotics I am healing at incredible speeds. I also keep to a Candida/Coeliac diet.

I am going to follow your advice and get the ball rolling right away!

isn't that live blood test great? I'd love to take a class and learn how to do it thoroughly. It was the most accurate test I've ever been exposed to in terms of candida, congestion and toxins. My naturopath didn't mention any deficiencies, guess I'd already handled them okay. Smile

What is a live blood test and how do you get one?

It's called "live blood microscopy" and usually only Naturopathic doctors (ND's) offer them.

What they do is take a drop of your blood, put it on a slide under a microscope hooked up to a very large monitor. They watch as things culture and tell you based on how your cells look how polluted your body is. They can see the yeast, protozoa, quality of the white and red blood cells, etc. and get a really accurate view of your metabolic functions etc. My doctor had a worksheet and he basically rated each section on a scale. Since I'd been on my anti-candida protocol for three months when I had this done, I scored pretty well, it was good feedback for validating that I was doing the right things. The only adjustment he made was to eat more protein because I had sticky cell syndrome.
