Has anyone else heard that beans & legumes should not be eaten more often than 1-2 times per week? Apparently if you eat them more frequently than that, you may get digestive disorders because of toxins that cannot be destroyed by cooking. Are there any cultures that eat beans daily, and yet are healthy?
I love beans so much, I hope it's not true. |

| I have never heard anything of the sort. I eat beans almost everyday. My naturopath knows I do and she's never said anything about that. Also, kichadi is beans, and highly recommended around here as a food to eat frequently. Where did you hear that? |

Andreas Moritz says it. Usually I trust his advice, but I wasn't sure about this one.
I eat beans a lot too. I really hate meat, so legumes make a good alternative basis for a meal. |

Ive read that beans contain anti-nutrients (toxins). If you eat them raw, you will get very sick. When you cook them, they've lost the most toxins, but still contain some. Same goes for potatoes. And grains.
Atleast if yu want to believe the Paleo diet. I would like to hear more opinions on beans and potatoes |
