|
|
I have this neighbour's cat who comes into my garden every day. It's not friendly (like all the neighbourhood cats). It's very cunning and clever.
For the last 2 years, it has got bigger and stronger. It is now trying to kill my fish (it's already savaged one) and it's killing loads of birds. Last week, it managed to climb up my tall hedge/fence and killed all the Robin's chicks. It was horrible.
What can I do? I feel guilty because I hang a lot of bird balls out and that attracts the squirels and wild birds ... but this cat is always around, ready to pounce. |

Oh my, that's a toughie, because a cat will do what a cat is born to do, and that's hunt and fish! And if you set up an adversary relationship with the cat, that will change the energy of your backyard and cause more strife than before, possibly escalating the killings even.
I work with Nature all the time as a co-creative scientist, so I will actually ask the Devas involved to step in and help out with matters such as these. But this is not always an effective method. Lots of people who work with Nature have had great success with getting ants to leave their house, but I've done everything I can for the ant nest under our house and they will still invade when it gets too hot or too flooded. Sigh. Our agreement seems to be one of "we'll stay out of the house unless there's no food anywhere else." which works great 99% of the year.
The Garden Workbooks by Machaelle Small Wright teach you how to connect to nature and make your requests, such as connecting to the Overlighting Deva of your property or of your garden in the backyard to state the purpose of the property (sanctuary for birds and fish), the Deva of Cats, the Higher Self of the cat in question, and asking the cat to hunt elsewhere. Lots of people have had great success with Deer and other critters, but I don't know about cats, they're so wild! |

Invincible,
This seems to be the number one article about Roaming Cats:
http://www.idahohumanesociety.com/caretrain/roamcat.htm
You can also try to google "roaming cats" or "discouraging cats hunt" for other links.
Hope you find a solution!
