I just watched another brilliant episode of Good Eats. The subject: Strawberries. One of the facts about them was that when the leaves are brewed into tea-form, it acts as a laxative. I wonder if this would be strong/mild and a lot safer than senna. |

Ah, that Good Eats guy is brilliant! just brilliant. Finds all those weird details about food.
As far as I can tell from herb references, it's a mild laxative like any other fruit-based laxative. Similar in strength to rhubarb. |

Hi Shelley
I always read that rhubharb and strawberrys are meant to be acidic, and not to be eaten by someone with acne. Is this true? |

| Nawwwwww. Fruit acids are actually potassuim, which is the Alkaline mineral in the bloodstream. Beware of anything you read bout pH and acid/alkaline, most people writing about it have never taken chemistry or physiology and are talking out of their hat. |

Thanks a lot Shelley! I've avaoided those fruits for years! I've got 30 strawberry plants growing in my garden right now, was going to give them to the kids. Now, I'll be able to have some too! |
