I am making kefir! For some reason, I thought it would be complicated, but it is easy as pie--easier than yogurt!
Is good health just around the corner???!!!! |

| Making kefir is SO much easier than making yogurt, plus it has more of the "good stuff".. |

| Not really, the Kefir Grains have very specific microbe colonies, and to add different ones like for yogurt would have them fighting with each other basically. |

| Are there any places online to buy the jars for making kefir? I can't find the ones with the strainer tops, but haven't even been able to get basic canning jars in any store near me! |

| What! No Mason jars???? My local Albertson has them. They put them in a weird place, by the picnic supplies, but they're there. |

Nope, no jars. I was hoping I could get them online instead of continuing on my wild goose chase at the stores. Stores other people told me sell them near them, Walmart, Stop & Shop, etc. don't sell them in my local ones. I don't have an Albertson.
I have a few jars I got a long time ago, but I use them for other things and need new ones for kefir. I was also hoping for the ones with the strainers, but now I'll settle for anything. |

Wow. That's really odd.
Will Wal-mart order them for you? They keep saying they stock everything!
Also, do any of the grocery stores near you have those jars of canned fruit in the refrigerated area of the produce section? Del Monte I think is the company. They started using these glass jars instead of metal cans. They're really terrific. It's how I get my grapefruit. I end up using those jars for fermenting all the time. |
