Hi Shelley,
We spoke a little bit about muscle building and bodybuilding in general before, and I had concerns regarding right nutrition. I would like if you could take a look at this article http://articles.health.msn.com/id/100101230/?GT1=6327 from MSN, and tell us what you think of "myth's" described there. What really is a myth, and what is completely wrong, and why?
Lets jumpstart this forum. I would be very interested to read your point on this. Other's are very welcome to post thir opinions as well.

that's a fantastic article! My personal experience jives with every point. Leg extensions bother me way more than squats, for instance. I can FEEL my knee getting into a bad position, straining, as I lift.
And yep, doesn't matter if you use free weights or machines at first, but once you build up a bit, free weights and REAL activity give you a much better conformation overall. The muscle looks real, balanced. |

i used to do a lot of weights in the past and i agree with most of the information from personal experience. the only thing i wouldnt agree with totally though is the training slow part. i think they should elaborate a bit more because its actually good to incorporate some very slow exercised, maily the biceps and triceps.
i was working out one day and an ex olympic was training next to me. he was in good shape, good muscles. then i found out he was 78 yrs old!! he showed me some tricks by lowering the weight and doing curls slowly gave me this awesome buzz in my arms which you feel when you start new. |

i did. funnily enough he said raw eggs were best. so are bananas, chiken, potatoes. he's also my regular customer at my restaurant so he loves a bit of lamb too!! he said carbs were just as important as protein.

Interesting article I must say.
I personally advise usage of free weight ones the technique is mastered. Oh how I hate to see people waiting in line for a machine saying that free weight will pump there's muscles too much ( especially females ). I have been lifting free weight for a long time and do not have big muscles, but everyone has his one thoughts on this.
I found that Tae Bo is very effective and gives best results. Been doing it with my students and they are just thrilled.
I’d like to jumpstart this forum and would like to invite everyone to put questions and threads about there routines.
