|

Shelley, how do you know when your bowels are clean? I'm assuming I have mucoid plaque, due to really awful eating habits in the past, and I suppose I need to keep going till I get that out. But if you don't have it, how do you ever really know you're cleaned out?
Also, I hate to be the first person on your lovely new site to discuss stool contents, but have you ever heard of stools that look like spirals?
And, every time I take any liver cleansing herbs, I get these little off white/yellowish things. They are mostly square, but flat, and about an eighth to a quarter inch in size. They are soft.
BTW, I am finally facing my candida....I had done a spit test a few months ago, and it was bad, but I don't really have any severe symptoms, so I've just avoided the issue. Yesterday I started on your candida diet, and I am determined to stick with it for a month. I went to the health food store today and bought lots of quinoa, amaranth, and legumes. Now that I have kichadi, I can face the diet! (Thanks to you! ) |

Good question. How DO you know? Well, mostly you measure your ribs, top of waist, waistline. If the top of waist and waitline both are larger than your ribs, SOMEthing is making your abs protrude in ways they should not. If it's coupled with stooped shoulders, chances are the bowels are misshapen.
If you're basically a Vata type, chances are you don't have mucoid placque. Dry vatas just don't get the mucos like Kapha people do, or Pitta when they totally overeat. Since women usuallydon't eat the kind of insane meals that men do (when's the last time you ate an entire large pizza? LOL!) they are much less prone to producing mucoid placque.
So the best thing to do is to not worry about it, just keep thoroughly cleansin because you wish to cleanse the entire body adn balance your microbes. Soon as we eat the intestines are no longer clean!
Make a complete list of symptoms, and when they're resolved you can discontinue most bowel management from then on.

Yep, I have! Both kinds o fspirals - the thin stools that just tend to spiral, and the thicker stools that have a spiral shape embedded into them. I find it fascinating. Could indicate a stricture somewhere.

Have those analyzed if you can. Be sure to do a parasite expulsion protocol to see if any come out (that protocol will be in the fAQ).

I wish I could agree, but unfortunately, I have a borderline compulsive eating problem. I probably HAVE eaten a few pizzas by myself. And stuffed myself with lots of other bad junk food and sugary stuff, all washed down with plenty of ice cold Diet Coke! ALso, I seem to be about an inch wider in the waist than around the ribs, and I am most definitely stoop-shouldered! Based on this info, (and I think I am Pitta but not clear on that) would I not be a likely candidate for mp?
And if my bowels are misshapen, what do I do? Will fiber shakes address both these problems?
And could the candida be contributing to bowel congestion? I guess getting rid of the candida will help the friendlies?
BTW, the spiral stools only appear when I am doing bowel cleansing.
Sorry to have SO MANY questions. Thank you for your patience. |

Yep, you definitely fit the profile of someone with MP and prolapsed colon. If you have hemorrhoids too that would cinch it.

Fiber shakes are only part of what should be a very comprehensive program that cycles about every 3-4 days. The FAQ has an intro to bowel managemnet and a section on prolapsed colon that you really must read. You'll need laxatives, fiber, colonics, periods of nothing but aloe vera juice followed by periods of mucilagious substances, then back to constant fiber and occasional colon flushes.
To reshape the hollow tube of the intestines, you have to have very very regular, small packets of fiber passing thru it. then you need to give it a break and do some toning (aloe vera) followed by moistening to replace healthy mucus (mucilogious). Then back to the regular packets of fiber.
The liver should also be cleansed and the diet full of good oils.

Absolutely, in a myriad of ways.

Ah, that makes more sense. Which kind of cleansing exactly? Enemas or fiber shakes?
Don't apologize for questions! That's the best way for me to help you. Questions are the best way for me to know where you're at in your timing, what's appropriate for me to address. |

Oh my. I feel kind of overwhelmed.
I had printed out your bowel mngmt for beginners from curezone, but I don't see a protocol for prolapsed colon there....I guess for now I should just start putting the fiber thru, right?
Re the spiral stool, I think that was when I was using p&b shakes.
I would like to speak to you privately about this if you don't mind. I don't see your email, should I just use the private message feature? |

yep, you can use the PM, or e-mail me: editor#askshelley.com, either way you like
Yep, start using whatever fiber you have, chase it with oil, herbal tea, cleansing drink and a mild laxative at night. A good commercial fiber cleanser will get you all of that in one and spare you some time.
A bit of exercises - walking, plus knee lifts (bent leg lefts) preferably on a slant board.
It would be best if you could squat while eliminating. You can buy a special stand to go around your toilet bowl, or use a potty on the floor... We really weren't designed to be sitting up when evacuating and with a prolapsed colon that becomes an issue. Check the FAQ for the rest of the pointers. |
