Hi Shelley,,,

Very Happy How are you today?......I'm going to get this castor oil pack thing
going finally.....I don't know which is better, wool or flannel? I'm buying
it from cayces site, also, should I get the castor oil from HIS site, or just
buy it at the health food store?.......have you yourself ever used a castor oil pack, and did it help?...My son has very bad back pain in the lower back area, probably a muscle, but he's had this now for about three months and it's a real problem. There are good days, and bad days, and it has gotten better, but he doesn't know what he even did to himslef to cause this....it isn't the spine itself, so it's got to be the surrounding muscles and tissues....now, can he use the castor oil pack on that too? and will that actually help?......I'm going to do what you suggested for loosing a few inches, and put the pack on my belly, and under my chin, to get rid of the extra fat..(or flab, or who knows what to call it)..LOL....do you think that my oldest son could also use that for that congestion problem i wrote you about last week?....you recommended him doing a sinus flush, well, that didn't sit to well......LOL.....is there any other way to handle that congestion?......OK.....THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN Shelley!!!!

Sincerely, Starlight

I got the entire set from the cayce site, really can't beat the convenience. Smile Flannel is the recommended weave. There's something about wool that makes it less workable, forget why exactly.

Has your son had an x-ray done to make sure the spine is okay?

If it's a pulled muscle, then a dose of Epsom salts or a magnesium supplement will temporarily ease the pain. It would be good for him to try this while in pain to see what happens. If it helps, then you can rest assured it's a pulled muscle. Still, the health and positioning of the spine should be deduced thoroughly.

You really can't beat a combo of advanced chiropractic medicine (DC's who have had an extra year's training in the softer tissues) and sports medicine doctors/physical therapists for low back pain. Regular general practitioner/family doctors are pretty much useless.

The castor oil pack should be a big help, but if he has any swelling it's not recommended. Sometimes the back does better with cold, especially if there's a fracture, so that's why it's important to diagnose it properly. If you apply heat and relax the muscles when there is an injury to the spine you can make it worse.
