Hi Shelley
I'm still attempting to gain control over my bowel movements. Heavens!! I do take triphala or I should say I am beginning to take it again. After I take one or two triphala pills (750mg), when should I expect a bowel movement generally speaking?
I ingest 3-4 litres of water and take oils yet I strain a lot and my stools are hard. I drink warm water or herbal teas prior to trying to eliminate. Then I just end-up doing an enema...often without eliminating on my own. Also, I walk generally 4 times a week for 60 to 75 minutes.
The other day I tried several oxypowder and 2 triphala pills. The following day it took 20-30 minutes of straining to have a hard elimination. Nonetheless, I was happy with that Oddly enough , the following day (the day after the hard elimination) I was able to eliminate some running feces...
I ingest your fibre drink once in the am, I wonder if it would be too much to ingest it twice a day (I double the ingredients when I take it)?
I have resorted to doing too many enemas without allowing my bowels to eliminate on their own. I did this for two reasons:
- because I tried and was unable after doing enemas and I didn't want to leave toxins in my bowel to seap back into my body especially with the systemic candida
In advance, thanks once again for your help

Hi Alex!
You can take two to three doses of the fiber shake, but DO NOT double the ingredients! That gives you way too much to pass in a single packet. Weak intestines simply cannot handle it. It's like trying to bench press 300 pounds.
2 pills of triphala don't even qualify as a laxative. Triphala is an extremely mild laxative, like prunes. It acts as a tonifier for the intestines and doesn't cause dependency, and balances bowel flora, so there are many many reasons to take it. If you want the laxative effect, however, you're going to have to take 2 pills 3x a day minimum. Maybe even more.
Don't ever strain! That just makes things worse. You may have a prolapsed colon, be sure to read up on that in the FAQ and see if you can incorporate any of those tips. If the feces are stuck right there at the rectum, then either "go digging" with rubber gloves on, or use a glycerin tab suppository which you can buy at any drugstore. Totally safe to use too, applying oils right where you need 'em!
Hope that helps! |

I also had a difficult time with the triphala. I ended up having to take so many capsules just to end up going once per day. Plus I had to combine it with fiber capsules, OxyPowder, etc. It wasn't working, plus it was expensive to purchase so many products for this one problem. During the Schulze cleanses, I took his IF#1, but it caused cramping and that "run to the bathroom" feeling first thing in the morning. I could never go more than once per day with that as well. I didn't like it because it contains senna, which is probably responsible for the cramping and strong evacuation urges.
Someone suggested I try Dr. Christopher's lower bowel formula. I love this as it does not give me cramping but it does make me have a minimum of 2-3 bm's per day! This is a huge improvement for me and the only product I have tried thus far to give me this kind of daily success. I usually have a bm directly after drinking the cleansing drink and then again after breakfast. I will then have another one either after lunch or dinner. The amount of each bm is substantial each time. It just amazes me to think where in the heck all this waste went to before when it was stuck inside me for so long. No wonder I always felt so crummy.
I know Shelley will have great advice for you. I just wanted to pass along my new success because I have tried so hard to get to this point. |

| yep, Dr. Christopher's formula uses Cascara Sagrada just like Sonne's Perfect 7 does. I had the same experiences as you with senna - lots of pain, no gain! But cascara is the BOMB. Works every time, no pain! |

| Shelley, I'm curious can I take the Colonix fiber shake twice a day? Right now I take it when I wake up in the morning, and have normal bm's about 3x by noon, but nothing for the rest of the day. |

Shelley,
I'm taking the Colonix fiber shake in the morning, and I have about 3 bm's by noon, but then nothing for the rest of the day. Would it be ok to start taking the shake twice a day?
Thanks
p.s. when I stop the shakes to take aloe vera juice, will I need to take something else to keep things moving? or is the aloe vera juice enough? thanks again |

you can take triphala while you take aloe vera, they work well together, but overall it's your chance to have a low-fiber or even liquid, vegetarian diet and not worry about constipation. Best to keep to liquids or very fast transit foods like fruit or blended veggies as much as possible.
Yes, you can take the shake more than once a day if you keep on passing it so well. The trick with re-establishing good bowel tone is to take multiple, small to medium doses throughout the day rather than one large one. Having multiple fiber packets - counting both shakes and meals - at regular intervals keeps the intestines in a consistent shape so that any strictures you may have have a chance to work the kinks out permanently. Then the aloe tightens and slims the ballooning out areas until all of the intestines are slimlined the way they should be. |
