Shelly, I have a couple questions if you have the time. Most of the forums I frequent say that eggs are usually not a good idea (even bad) for acne prone skin, but I've seen that in several posts, you've recommended the protein shakes for this problem, and for dry skin too, just wondering what the benefits are using the protein shakes for these reasons... As far as my skin goes, it's dry/flaky, and prone to breakouts, minimal but very aggravating, I mostly have darker/red spots from some time ago (seems like forever)... I recently started running daily again to get some excercise in, I cut out dairy, red meats, eat a salad a day with a tbsp olive oil, and I'm going to start incorporating the carrot cleansing salads into my diet as well. I've come a long ways since finding Curezone and your Ask Shelley sub-forum last year, but obviously I'm still working on everything.... I guess I'm just looking for some advice on my problems, any tips you have are much appreciated. Thanks for your time.
Sidenote: In the next few months, I'm going to do several liver flushes along with colonics and see how that helps, but I know there's got to be more that I can do now |

Hiya Dude! always nice to hear from you.
Most sites say "no eggs" because they're assuming you're allergic to them. many people are so it's a safe assumption. It's wise to test this out via kinesiology. If kinesiology says you're okay with eggs, you really can't find a better all-around food for building healthy tissues. Eggs have every essential amino acid, essential fatty acids, and every vitamin and mineral except for Vit C.
My Protein Shakes have the best kind of fats and oils and B vitamins that the skin absolutely loves. When eaten regularly, the protein shakes will cure dry skin and eczema, even psoriasis if it's not due to stress. You'll get baby skin! And many kinds of acne are due to a lack of B vits. For very dry skin, the best protein shake is one with cold-pressed wheat germ oil instead of flax, and add in a spoonful of nutritional yeast flakes too.
Some people still need a direct application of good oils, for that I highly recommend making your own avocado masks. Just blend up a very ripe avocado with an egg yolk, you can add some wheat germ oil or vegetable glycerin, and voila! great cure for dry skin. You can also just put on a very thin coating of pure nut, seed or coconut oil, so long as it was cold expeller-pressed.
Sometimes acne is due to an overdose of B vits and lecithin, but that's only after a lot of synthetic supplementation. It's pretty safe to assume that acne is due to deficiency unless you've been taking tons of vitamin pills and Accutane.
Be sure to try out the basic cleansing salad in addition to the carrot cleansing salad. You need the ACV, garlic and onion to really balance the bowels until you can get around to those colonics.
Good luck! |

| Also, I'm going to try the avocado mask, but do you recommend cleansing with just water or using certain cleansers, ive been doing the just wash with water approach for about 5 months now and it works pretty much just as well as most cleansers that ive tried. But i feel like i should be using something more but most products just dry my skin out more, any suggestions? |

a good castille soap like Dr. Bronner's should be used prior to get the old oils off your skin IF your skin is oily. If your skin is just dry, you can actually cleanse your skin by rubbing it with the inner skin of the avocado. There are cleansers that combine oils wtih an oil-based soap that might be okay. The Heritage Store has several, and most health food stores too.
