Would popcorn be considered a "puffed" food, therefore denatured? Is there any health bennifet to eating popcorn?

Hi Ono! There are a couple posts here on popcorn already, because it's a fun food that's tough to give up. Smile

Popcorn pops at a pretty low temperature, so it's an OKAY food, just not a good or great food. The main problem is that it is very very dry, and constipating. The best way to eat popcorn is smothered in a combination of butter and extra virgin coconut oil. That way you get your much needed coconut oil ration for the day. Smile

You have to buy regular popcorn and avoid all instant or microwavable popcorn, because that is usually from genetically engineered corn.

I have read the other threads about popcorn, and I do love to eat popcorn. I have loads of different ways I like to eat it, coconut oil an curry powder and garam marsala, or chipotle powder, or butter and truffle oil, I love to experiment with asian seasonings, or use a spray bottle to apply vinegars, I could go on and on. I would even say popcorn is my ultimate comfort food. I was a little dissapointed the hear rice cakes and puffed cerial was a anti-nutrient, because I love the "puffed" texture. Lots of japenese snacks have a puffed quality, which I totally love. I was cerious if popcorn would be a cheat or if I could actually consider it healthy. So, OK is great news! Have you ever had the wasabi peas?

oh yeah, wasabi peas and Japanese rice crackers are soul food for me! Wink I justify eating them because of the seaweed - I need the iodine. Laughing
