Hi!

Do these two basically work in the same way? I´m trying to deside on something to aid my liver cleanse once the fast is broken. Any insight would be helpful.

Planetary Formula's Bupleurum Liver Cleanse has the same herbs, plus MORE herbs, than Chinese Bitters. The problem with that is a couple of the herbs are estrogenic, which some people react to. I never did, but some people need to watch out for this and so CB would be better for them.

the problem with CB is it doesn't have any chololegogues (sp?) which means bile increasers. That's why you should buy Coptis too if you buy CB.

The benefit to CB + Coptis is these tinctures are VERY STRONG and really do their jobs. Planetary formulas does too, but not quite as strong so you need to take them longer for the same effect - and luckily you don't have to taste those bitter tinctures, which is nice. Wink

I tend to switch back and forth between the two because I really can't stand that bitter taste each and every day of liver cleansing! LOL! plus I don't want the organic alcohol every day what with my kidneys and all.

I noticed that you recommend bupleurum for people with fatty liver. I don´t have that as I´m only 22. But I guess it still ok to take, or would Liv.52 be a better choice? By the way, are all Liv.52 supplements the same? The ones in UK at least look different.

Yep, they're all the same. Liv.52 can be made by different manufacturers, but it's a specific formula of herbs that has been widely tested and researched. So if they don't follow it they can't give it the same name.

Just about everyone of any age over 14 has a fatty liver. It's inescapable unless you've been highly active and ate nothing but coconut oil and extra-virgin olive oil your entire life. Wink Even 20 year olds can have excess ounces in an enlarged liver.
