Right, not a gluten grain, but has a cold/drying action on the body so is not always appropriate for candida people.

Shelley i have read ur anti candida diet that we can't eat roasted nuts, even roasted chestnut? i bought roasted chestnut and it's pretty soft, I've tried soaking the almonds overnight 8-10 hours but still pretty hard to get rid of their skin and chew but by placing in boiled water for around 10 minutes , it was so easy and soft, I've read somewhere else that we can boil it, do u think i have to soaking in first place to become more digestable or how about boiling it? How long should i soak the nuts, overnight or 24 hours? while soaking do i have to change the water every 8 hours?

How about roasted pumpkin seeds? do i have to eat it raw? Actually can i oats and fruits at night ?

Can i eat raw fish?

I've done Liver flush 32 times and passing 6500 stones, my symptoms have been improved around 80% now, i cheat once a day but i just eat vegetables and rice for cheating at chinese restaurant and choosing the dishes without dark soya sauce, tofu, eggs, sometimes i got reactions like 1-2 pimples, mild reaction, Shelley do u think based on my conditions i can cheat once a day? I don't cheat on junk foods like cheese, burger, cake, bread i mean american foods, i just cheat on vegetables restaurant, maybe the way they cook unhealthy,

Tamari is allowed on candida diet?, even i'm allergic with Soya? i've seen Tamari at health store but it contains salt, is't okie? if okie, can i use it everyday? Thanks

Troy,
I soak almonds in hot water, can be boiling or or just hot, and they are ready in about 10-15 mins. I peel them as even though they've soaked I find the skins a bit too chewy. I also found it quite therapeutic Wink Also aren't there anti-nutrients in the skins?
Anyway, the skin comes off very easily and they seem very digestible
I love roasted pumpkin seeds!! I think they're so much tastier than raw one, but I try not to overroast them as it will destroy the EFAs.

I can't believe you've done 32 flushes Shocked have you broken the world record?!! Wink I've only done 1!!! How long has it taken you to do them? Did you flush every month?
Thanks!
It's great you're symptoms have improved so much Very Happy

Tamari in small amounts should be okay. Raw fish is okay IF you have decent stomach acids. Be sure to increase stomach acids when you eat raw fish - eat the ginger that comes with it first, and use Tons of the green horseradish too. That will kill off any parasites and aid digestion tremendously.

You can eat roasted nuts if you roast them yourself. Nourishing Traditions (see link in sources) has recipes.

It's okay to eat veggies in restaurants, that's not a cheat, just make sure they don't use MSG. Smile

Oats are not allowed on the candida diet. They are a gluten grain. Hot cereal is an excellent dinner, however. Just find one that is gluten-free like Bob's REd Mill mixes and Lundberg's.

I just soak almonds in hot water for about 10-15 mins.... I can skin them easily and eat them straight away. They aren't soft but have softened enough to make them digestible. I find it's much easier to soak for a short length of time in hot water than overnight in cold water. I don't think it's essential to soak for 8 hours.

I usually buy almonds with the skin on, rather than skinless that have already been blanched as I assumed they have had more time to go off.

Wow I'm amazed it only took you 1 yr to do those flushes! That shows commitment!

I leave mine to dry between two paper towels for about an hour or so. Then I put them in the fridge to keep them fresh longer. But I only store them for 1-2 days. Make sure they are completely dry, because mold will start to grow on them if you keep them long enough. I learned that from experience.

no, just a pipe. Don't roll it, use a pipe, and don't inhale it all the way, just take the smoke to the back of your throat. Please start a new thread if you want to discuss tobacco some more. Smile
