|
|
Okay, this is a new one on me, but everything I know about the body tells me that this is a truly important key to the power of digestion and detoxing.
It is simply this: the oil swish. Swish a tablespoon of vegetable oil in the mouth, in between the teeth, for 10-20 minutes 1-2 times a day.
Why? Well, because it signals the body to produce enzymes. Our own enzymes, which are made from protein chains and cause metabolic exchanges to happen much like lighting a match to gasoline, are better (not to mention cheaper) than any store-bought enzymes.
The enzymes that are created will then go about scavenging out acids and toxins, many of which end up in the oil. This is why the oil must be spit out rather than swallowed. It will also prepare the small intestine for digestion, reducing fermentation.
So it would be good to do this for just a few minutes prior to meals, because no one chews their food thoroughly enough, and that is extremely detrimental to good digestion. It should help us maintain proper balance of bowel flora, decrease transit times and thus cure constipation and candida.
Here's a link to a document that describes it more fully:
http://loaves-n-fishes.com/oilswish.htm
So please, if you're cleansing & detoxing or even in the maintenance stage and wanting to increase digestive power , please join me in trying the Oil Swish and let me know how it goes. Let's start testing these things out!

| Hi Shelley, I have been trying this on and off for a while - using sesame oil but only for around 3 mintes. By 3 mintes, the oil is so disgusting I'm glad to spit it out! It's also turned a nasty white/yellow colour and is thick. |

| According to Andreas..."It is better to be cautious about doing it no longer than 3-4 minutes at a time. The oil triggers the release of salivary enzymes that draw toxins and bacteria/yeast out of the protective lining of mouth, throat, chest, stomach, and clean the blood in the head area. This happens very quickly. By holding the oil in the mouth for 20 minutes you may be reabsorbing these noxious susbtances. If you want to do it longer than 3-4 minutes, you may use new oil." |

Well I did it last night for 20 minutes, and I got a detox headache at the base of my skull right away! Things definitely were happening. A tooth that had just had a filling for a simple cavity started aching, but that went away quickly. My legs and feet were tingling.
I started out with less than a tablespoon, and ended up adding more oil.
I think I will try switching out the oil next time. |

I am surprised that this is really okay with just veggie oil. I am using Spectrum Naturals Safflower Oil and it is refined. I hope that's okay!

Hi
I was doing it I think about 20 years ago. I completely forgot about this method. Thank you for reminding me about it.

I'm going to start this over the weekend.
I'm fasting/cleaning right now so I'm going to do this when I prepare my son's meals.
It will keep me for taste testing as I cook.
Have a great weekend everyone! |

I tried it out with veg oil. I went 6 minutes.
It wasn't as bad as I had anticipated. I did experience a bit of a ache in the neck- high up.
Then a tongue scrapping and good brushing.
My my felt exceptionally clean.
I'm going to keep up on this. It intrigues me. |

Hey, I've done this before! I read about it in a book I bought a few years ago, Moon Time, which was translated from German. Very interesting book. It also recommended sunflower oil, but said other oils are certainly worth a try. |
