While this isn't my first cleanse ever, it is my first cleanse in about 2 years.

In general I am a healthy person, but there are still some ailments that I feel could be cured by following the VHM. My ailments are: Acne (On face, chest, back, and forehead.) Anxiety, depression, and intolerance to some foods (Dairy, grains, simple carbs).

Currently my diet consists of: Brown rice, eggs (Scrambled with no oil or anti-stick spray), chicken, turkey, occasional salmon, vegetables, avocado, udo's flax oil, and olive oil.

My main dilemma is this, I want to do a thorough cleanse, but I don't want to fast, for the sake of preserving muscle. Is it possible to do a good, thorough cleanse while still eating a good amount of food?

I was wondering if the following protocol would be a good start:

Take a teaspoon of olive oil or flax 2x daily
Drink 1/2 cup aloe vera juice 2x daily
Do a salt water flush 2x a week
Drink herbal tea every day
Eat garlic, and take a yeast killing supplement. (http://www.darcynat.com/product.asp?strsessionguid=F0E7294D759469E&ProductID=12)
Do sweaty cardio 3 or 4 times a week.
Digestive enzymes with every meal.

If a fast is the only way to do it, I am down like charlie brown, but if there are other ways, please let me know.

Thanks a lot!

Yes of course it's possible to only semi-fast, eat healthy, maintain weight and cleanse. We do it all the time. Some of us just don't do well with a very low-calorie fast so we eat the right things and maintain our weight and energy.

As long as you stick to whole, unprocessed foods, you won't set yourself back. Some foods are less 'polluting' than other foods, so we accent those. My favorite is Kichadi. The recipe is in the FAQ. Keep reading, it's all here. Smile
