Hi Everybody!
This spring I got the news that my close relative overseas
got a very large stone in her gallbladder. She ended up in the
hospital with a lot of pain. Of course, they told her that
they need to operate her. I got in touch with her right away
and talked her into flushing liver and gallbladder.
I have a couple of years of experience with liver flushes
and each time is is a success except the very first
time when I did not pass any stones.
I wrote down for her a liver detox program from
my experience and from other sources. Breiefly it
included mostly vegetarian diet for 2 months prior
to the flush, daily cleansing liver salads and cleansing
ACV drink from Shelley, plenty of apples and fresh apple juice,
carrot juice, beet juice, mint, ginger, dandelion,
burdock teas, good oils in the morning followed by ACV drink
and high fiber breakfast.
I also sent her a parsel with various supplements.
I could not send her Julia Chang formulas because they
dont allow alcohol formulas in overseas parcels, and
they only ship to certain countries from sensiblehealth.com
I ended up finding several chinese formulas with
Gold Coin Grass in pill form:
Gall Bladder Support Formula (Li Dan Pian),
Urinary System Formula (Hua Shi Wan), which
works for liver and gall bladder as well, as they told
me in Chinese pharmacy, and which supposedely
has the highest concentration of Gold Coin Grass,
and Quing Dan Hua Shi Pian formula which has Herba Lysimachiae
as well in it.
She was rotating these formulas for about 5 weeks.
She was also rotating these before flush:
Chanca Piedra (I was lucky to find non-alcohol tincture)
Herbs Etc. Liver Tonic Milk Thistle/Oregon Grape Complex
Nature's Way Super Thisilyn
Gaia Herbs Liver Health Liquid Phyto Capsules,
as well as taking daily Lecithin and Malic Acid.
I was happy that she agreed to follow this program.
My aunt is 70 and she was very skeptical about all this at first.
I was not even counting on her doing the flush
hoping that the supplements will help to break the stone
and get it out without flushing. We were very excited when
she decided to do the liver flush after all.
She really believed in all of this treatment and we were
expecting great results. She did the flush as I described it
here: http://www.askshelley.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5690
She was rather ill the whole time and looking for stones
was the last thing on her mind. She got better after a few days.
She was still taking some of the supplements that were left
for another week and then went for the gall bladder scan.
Unfortunately the stone was still there, same size.
She could not believe it, me neither. We did a lot!
The only thing they said that before it was a floating stone
and now it is next to the gall blader wall which is
supposedely better.
Thank God my aunt is taking it well, she was even joking about the
while thing, but I know that she is very worried, and we are all
worried as well.
I tried to talk her into doing the second flush, after all a lot
of people dont pass any stones after the first flush including
me, but she doesn't want to hear about it, and I doubt that
she'd do it again.
Could anyone suggest what else we can do besides the flush
to get this gall bladder stone out or if it is possible
at all without a flush? I'm preparing another parsel for her.
I still have to convince to take even more supplements as
this whole thing was quite challenging for her.
Do you know of any supplements that may work in
this case in addition to what we've tried already?
Thanks!

The chanca piedra should do the trick given time, IF it is a fat-based stone. Some people get so messed up harder stones get created. Or their gallbladders are sooo weak and inflamed (check and see if this turned up on the scan) that they need to do tons of ginger tea to take down the inflammation so that the gallbladder can contract powerfully.
Also good to take is Taurine to build up bile. You can't flush much if you have no bile.
If she doesn't want to do the major flush again, have her do the slow clenase in the FAQ. If she does a small version of the oil/juice cocktail in the mornings that will help all the other compounds get at the stone better.

Thanks, Shelley!
"The chanca piedra should do the trick given time, IF it is a fat-based stone."
How can we find out if it is a fat-based stone or else would be calcified stone, right? If it is calcified then gold coin grass is better?
"Or their gallbladders are sooo weak and inflamed (check and see if this turned up on the scan)"
I'll check with her if the gallbladder shows inflamed on the scan. If it is inflamed, anything else she can take besides ginger to bring it down?
I never heard of taking taurine. Is it safe for her age (70)?
Thanks again. |

Fat-based stones don't show up on ultra-sound but calcified ones do. No herb will break down calcified stones. Phosphorus and malic acid will sometimes.
Ginger should be all she needs.
Taurine is just a protein. Very safe therapy. Just don't overdose her, have her eat less protein on the days she takes taurine. |
