|
|
Hi Shelley,
I have been consuming carrot juice since about two years ago, I really love the wonders and benefits of carrot juice, i just dont like my skin to turn into orange.
Any replacer for carrot juice which does almost the same as carrot juice without turning my skin into orange?
I appreciate your reading and suggestion, thanks a lot! |

LOL! The same thing happened to me.
It's not totally good to overdose on carrot juice. We really don't need that much potassium, and it can throw off our zinc ratio which messes with our hormones and can even do kidney damage. So the first thing you want to do is to make sure you only have 8 ounces of potassium-rich veggie juice each day. More is not necessarily better. Dilute with water if you want a larger drink. And consider supplementing Zinc for a day or two occasionally when you've been indulging so much your skin turns orange.
Combine the carrots with other fruits and vegetables and they'll go a lot farther. My favorite replacement for pure carrot juice is a fantastic "5 alive" type orange juice:
2 carrots
3 celery
1 green apple, cored
1 orange or 1/2 orange, peeled
Squeeze of lemon slice.
I also like mixing carrot with jicima, red bell pepper, celery, sometimes with tomatoes, parsley, spinach and worstershire sauce like a V-8, sometimes not.
And of course the Cleansing Cocktail, recipe in the FAQ.
On hot days nothing beats a virgin Mojito, except perhaps a juiced pineapple, ginger and sparkling water.
Hope that helps! |

Hi Shelley,
Thanks so much for your advice, I appreciate your opinion more than i can say.
I'm just wondering, can apple/orange cleanse liver as strong as carrot did?
Regarding Cleansing Cocktail recipe, do you mean this:
"Cleansing Cocktail Recipe: Juice 4 carrots, 1 apple, seeded, ½ beet, one inch of fresh ginger root, handful of parsley. Chase the juice (or precede it) with a spoonful of olive or flax seed oil. Organic veggies preferred. If not organic, peel them."
Is it purposely designed for liver cleansing? 4 carrots are still considered a lot, right? Previously I consume carrot drink about 3 times a week with 5 or 6 carrots each, then my skin turned into orange, I have been doing this for about two years and recently i just stop due to this problem. |

Yep, the Cleansing Cocktail is designed for liver cleansing mostly. And if I could edit the recipe I would - by 4 carrots I meant from a bunch, not juicing size carrots! LOL! And it's assumed that that's all the juice you'll have all day, and all the carrots you'll have all day.
Apples and oranges are, in a different way, more cleansing of the liver. Orange juice, for instance, increases Stage 2 detoxification. However, so many people have difficulty with oranges, too acidic or too sweet for candida, and can't find good ones to juice now that they're all coming fom was the rain forest, that I don't stress it.
Apples have to be green apples for best results. Granny Smiths tend to have the most malic acid. That plus its scouring fiber is one of the reasons why you can honestly say 'an apple a day keeps the doctor away.' Even store-bought cider will do a lot of good, especially if you add a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar. It dissolves stones and acidifies the stomach for better digestion and less fermentation.
Carrot mostly cleanses the bile and dredges the liver. |
