Wow, Shelley! Your site looks amazing! I'm shamed to admit I haven't even had the chance to browse around these last couple years since you left curezone. I had a baby and well just got too busy to be able to be on the computer much. You're doing an amazing job! As usual.

Anyway, I am WAY WAY overdue for a cleanse and desperately want to take control again of my health. I was briefly reading on the Candida section and what you wrote (Acetaldehyde interrupts nerve signals to the point of brainfog, memory lapses, inability to recall words.....) is EXACTLY what I am going through right now! All of these symptoms are terrible for me right now. I am going to read your Candida diet page but was planning on doing another P&B cleanse. Just wondering if this is still something you recommend or do you like a different one? The last one I did was very successful (expelled mucoid plaque, my skin completely cleared up), however, I also think I depleted myself (I started to get muscle weakness and social anxiety). My plan is to do 2 shakes per day like before. I really can't remember all of what I did back then (thanks to memory lapse and brain fog) but I was doing a lot of different cleanses back to back (bowel, parasite, liver, candida, master cleanse, juice fasts). I am not overweight, quite the opposite actually, 5'4, 108 pounds but I eat a lot. I do have a high percentage of belly fat though. I am also still breastfeeding my son but only 2-3 times per day. Any help you can offer would be much appreciated! Very Happy Thanks!

p.s. I found that information about mercury and Candida very interesting!

p.s.s. And I am very sorry to hear about your mother ((hugs))

Hey sweetie! Good to see you. Smile

I'm not big on taking a lot of clay whilst breastfeeding if there's any chance of leaky gut. We may actually absorb some of the metals in the clay. So best to do just one P&B shake a day. Make the other shakes safer versions such as kefir and a safe fiber, or perhaps blueberry occasionally. That would be an excellent fat burner, and chances are you mainly need to replenish the friendlies.

Muscle weakness can be lack of protein, but it can also be low minerals, which is pretty much a given after giving birth! So I'd also recommend Cal-Mag Fizz, protein shakes, a multi-mineral plus add NYF to the shakes and hot cereals. Plus lecithin.

Just do that much and see how it goes for a month. Nice and easy. Smile

Hi Shelley,

I think you're right about being low in minerals. I've suspected being deficient for some time especially since I've been breastfeeding for 2 1/2 years! I was reading through the vital health management and diagnostic tools last night and everything makes so much sense. I need to start on the tonifying and rebuilding right away. The main things that jumped out at me was the foul-smelling gas (poor protein digestion), feeling full for a long time after eating/lack of hunger (low stomach acids/bile, digestive enzymes), flatulence (fermentaion in the small intestine), and hump on nail (severe deficiencies). I also have a few "dents" in my nails which I read somewhere a while ago that said it was protein deficiency, if I remember correctly, which would make sense considering everything else I just mentioned. Oh and I stopped taking the B&P (on Apr. 18th) because I was worried it would deplete me even more than I already am and it started to make me feel weak again (only 3 days on it). The sensation it gives me is like sludge running through my veins, like I'm really slow. Should I start on a different bowel cleanse (like oxypowder or colonix) or just focus on rebuilding right now? My BM's aren't that great right now and I know I could use some help in that area. My plan is to do protein shakes, kichadi, digestive enzymes, Kefir, CalMagFizz, Emergen C, cleansing drinks, Indian spice tea, detox baths and lymph management (trampoline, skin brushing). Should I add anything else? I still have to read through the FAQ and do the thyroid and zinc tests. Recently (2 weeks or so) I started taking CODmega from Garden of Life which I think has really helped my moods and irritability. One thing that is really bothering me right now that I've noticed over the last few days is muscle twitching; I'm guessing that's part of my mineral deficiency. My thigh has been twitching all morning. I'm also planning on trying acupuncture and have been seeing a chiropractor for about 4 months now (I'm down to 1 adjustment per month). Anyway, sorry for rambling all over the place, just trying to gather all my thoughts (which can prove difficult at times) and make a plan. I'm ready to take control of my health once and for all. Thanks so much for your help!!!!

If you've consistently had bowel movements, at least one a day, for awhile, then yes, you can move right into rebuilding. If your tongue is clear all the time you can do a lot of rebuilding while eating a very clean and somewhat cleansing diet. Just keep an eye on your tongue and symptoms so you know when to back off.

Your plan sounds fine, hopefully the Cal-Mag Fizz will take care of the twitches. I'd add in 500 mg of Taurine, to take on your vegetarian days, and a good liver herb complex like Livatone Plus.

You didn't say exactly how your BMs are messed up? So I'm not sure what else to tell you? If they're a trifle slow, Triphala or Easter's Digest tea (has fennel) is probably the safest remedy for you.
