Hey Shelley!
I just got the results of my hair analysis test back. Would you mind having a glance? I could scan it and post it on a photo site... that way everyone can look at it and learn from whatever you say about it. Thanks |

Thanks so much Shelley.
Here's the link: http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/cc108/ryandejager/Ryan_Hair_Analysis.jpg
I have read most of Cutler's book (Hair Test Interpretation), and the lab (ARL) gave me like a 10pg report with the results, so here's what I kind of gathered from it all:
- even though mercury isn't showing up, the test fulfilled 4 or the 5 counting rules that would indicate deranged mineral transport and mercury toxicity. I have always been suspicious of Hg poisoning from numerous silver fillings, 4 of which I still have in my mouth, and many symptoms. Plus aluminum is elevated, and according to Cutler mercury causes aluminum retention. I have not been exposed to any aluminum sources for at least a year before the test, except for the occasional cheats probably had some baking powder. So I am pretty much assuming that Hg is an issue and that I will have to get my amalgams out if I want total relief. Hopefully I can do it this summer, since I'm done school, even though I do have debt, at least I don't have to pay for another year. Finally I'll be able to afford some well deserved donations to you as well. Here re my current symptoms of Hg poisoning:
- Social anxiety
- Change in emotional response to things
- Brain fog
- Intelligence deterioration
- Dizziness
- Tinnitus
- Insomnia
- Daytime drowsiness
- Reduced adrenal/possibly thyroid function
- Hair loss
- It's hard to know what to make of the rest of minerals since there is DMT. I will probably just supplement all the main ones in moderate amounts, with extra zinc/iron/chromium probably. As for the toxic ones I will just try and sweat for now, since it might not be a totally accurate representation anyways.
- Low Na/Mg ratio: adrenals cannot make enough adrenaline.
- Low Na/K ratio: exhausted adrenals, since adrenal insufficiency will lead to reduced sodium retention).
- High Ca/P ratio and low Na/Mg ratio: need for supplementary B6
- Cutler says hair cobalt levels correspond with body B12 levels, altho he didn't mention if it was so with DMT, so I may need to take some extra B12 therapy, which I kind of am doing already
-The ARL report said that I have liver/kidney distress (probably true), very impaired glucose tolerance (yup), impaired digestion, and a trend towards anemia, anxiety, depression, emotional sensitivity, fatigue, infections, and insomnia. This is pretty much bang-on. But it also said some other stuff, which I don't know if I should stress over: I am a "slow oxidizer" and that based on my metabolic trends I have impaired protein synthesis (don't really know what this means), my body in an unhealthy "parasympathetic state," and that my body is in the "exhaustion" stage of stress. Are any of these significant?
So, in a nutshell, I need to really support adrenals, keep up with the Candida diet, keep doing liver cleansing, and supplement some minerals (nothing too extreme). They recommended tons of supplements which I turned down, except an adrenal glandular. I figure it can't hurt, I'll be cautious and take it for a week and then see what to do after. I'm gonna get my thyroid tested again too sometime. I'm gonna order Cutler's "Amalgam Illness", but I prob won't have time to read for a while.
Do you think I'm doing the right thing, or do you see something else in the test? Do you think there's any supplements I should focus on specifically (besides the usual adrenal support ones), or a better way to manage this mineral wonkiness?
Thanks Shelley!! God bless you |

I think your analysis is spot on, way to go!
What exactly is in the adrenal support they gave you? I found Gotu Kola, licorice, a ginseng mix and astralagus all very helpful for adrenal issues, plus the adrenal support meals in the FAQ. I did not find that actual adrenal tissue helped all that much except in cases of people with adrenal antibodies and inflammation.
Yep, sweating is key for you until you get your amalgams removed. There's a lot you can do in the meantime: sweating, deactivated charcoal, judicious mineral supplementation (your list plus Cal-mag fizz or similar), plenty of good EFAs.
I wouldn't say any of the last bits are significant really. Just get adequate protein in your diet, eat eggs frequently, maybe supplement Taurine to up protein and fats digestion and assimilation, and digestive enzymes.

Thanks Shelley!
Here is the nutritional info the gladular:
Vitamin C (as ascorbic acid) ...............................100 mg
Pantothenic Acid (from calcium pantothenate).................26 mg
Calcium (from calcium carbonate)...........................1.25 mg
Zinc (from zinc hydrolyzed rice protein chelate)..............1 mg
Manganese (from manganese hydrolyzed rice protein chelate)...25 mg
Potassium (from potassium hydrolyzed rice protein chelate)..100 mg
Bovine Adrenal Substance ....................................45 mg
Bovine Liver Substance ......................................25 mg
Betaine Hydrochloride.......................................100 mg
So there's not as much adrenal tissue as some gland caps, and a lot of B5 too, which apparently can help "kick-start" adrenals. I still am just gonna do this for a week and just see the reaction, I figure a week can't hurt hey?
I have done gotu kola for months, a bottle of ashwaghandha, and a bit of ginseng. I also get enough B-vits. I have, however, neglected to make bieler broth lately. I have taken some of the PF ginseng revitalizer blend, although I took a break form adrenal herbs. They may have helped a bit but honestly they gave no noticible improvement in symptoms for me. I also have astralagus which I haven't used yet. I'm gonna start licorice... I mostly avoided it because it's building not cleansing, but this is more important anyways. So... I'll start all that I suppose in May, after I'm done school. Just no time for anything right now!
According to Cutler, the adrenal insufficency can be caused by the heavy metals themselves (by invading the tissues themselves I just read... on this (seemingly) fine site: http://tuberose.com/Adrenal_Glands.html) Yikes! My poor babies! Lol, so maybe this is why the herbs didn't seem to help much?
Yep, minerals are all taken care of. I've been taking calmag fizz whenever needed for months already.
The charcoal has piqued my interest. By deactivated charcoal, do you just mean regular activated charcoal mixed in some water to saturate it? I couldn't seem to find any deactivated charcoal supplements anywhere.
Thanks for the suggestion on Taurine, I will try that.
Thanks for everything... |

oh sorry I meant activated charcoal! Got dyslexic there!
Okay, bovine adrenal substance, yep, I never found that those did any good. However, if you have an inflammatory issue of the adrenals, then this will attract the antibodies away from your real adrenals, kind of like a decoy. But yes, cleansing is key!!! Gots to get the bad minerals out and the good minerals into proper ratio with one another. |
