Hi Shelley!
I hope all is well with you!
I was reading posts and the FAQ about skin food, etc. and had a few questions.
My skin on my arms gets dry with a tissue paper look to it sometimes and I live in Florida where it is humid.
My Udos oil should be here in this week, I am going to mix that with cottage cheese for some EFAs.
I started eating salmon and avacados, how much should or could I eat without gaining weight? I know avacados have the good fat but if you eat too much, you'll put on weight.
Also, NYF, what do you suggest I put them in if anything or do you just eat them?
I am going to do a liver cleanse in a few weeks, the slow one that is the FAQ but have to order a stone disolver first. I am eating granny smith apples a few times a week to get a start and juicing beets/carrots.
Thank you for any suggestions!

Hi Lisa! One of the nice things about a whole foods diet is you don't have to worry about weight as much. It's really tough to eat too much when all your foods are real. One avocado a day 5 days a week shouldn't cause any weight gain. You can back off your other oils on the days you eat them too if you need to. They make good snacks all by themselves, or add them to a salad or veggie plate so that it has more ballast, or slice and top a protein patty of some kind, beef, salmon, omelete, what have you.
Protect your skin with a light layer of oil. Some people like pure sesame oil, but really all you need is vaseline. Cheap and easy.
NYF can be put into anything. You get more benefit if it doesn't get too hot, so I tend to put it into smoothies or sprinkle it on a bowel of prepared hot cereal right before eating. It adds a nutty flavor, so anything that works with that. |
