Has anyone here had any experience with Reiki healing? I've been interested in getting a healing for myself and my mum, but also I feel that being attuned to the 1st level may be good for starting out.

Hi Secret Guest

I was attuned to 1st level around 5 years ago. For 2 weeks afterwards, I kept blowing out every light bulb in the house and getting mini electric shocks from my car! I think my electric system is wired in some strange way ... that's just me though!

I also had the same experience when I went to a Hua Gong (healing type of Qigong) weekend workshop a few years ago.

Oh wow. So what was the attunement process like? I only know that you have to study a little bit before you get attuned.

The attunement is nothing much .. the Reiki Master just draws (in the air) some symbols over you ... it had no meaning to me and didn't feel of anything.

There really isn't much to study, if you know a little about Chakras and their positions, that's as much as you would need to know.

Personally, I believe we all have the power to heal ourselves and others, Reiki is one of many routes to help us centre/balance a little better - so you can utilise your own chi in a controlled way.

Last summer I reconnected with a cousin I hadn'tseen in over 15 years.
She is a Reiki Master and also teaches a free dance movement workshop.
Called Dance as you are. I don't know a whole lot about it, but it is supose to be very freeing and spiritual.

She has offered to do attunement for me and also let me join in on one of her workshops.

I am excited about it!
I think I am going to try to go over Canada Day weekend.
She lives in our Capital, Ottawa. WHich is aboout a 5 or 6 hour drive from me.

Hi S G

You are so timely.
I just yesterday afternoon sent her an email discussing possible dates for a visit.

I wanted to go this coming weekend as it is a National holiday on Friday and I also have Monday and Tuesday booked as vacation days.
My son's father called me yesterday, and wants to take my son Saturday and Sunday. (sigh)
He spends very little time with my son, so I generally always try to accommodate visits. My son loves his father.
SO my weekend will have to be rethought. I now think I will have to postpone until early August. I have most of that month as vacation this year. Chantal- my cousin should get back to me today.

I have had 2 reiki healings so far, and i have felt my depression lift and anxiety has mostly gone now, i feel much more positive to face what i have to. I recommend it, i have another one booked now Smile
