Hi

I just wanted to ask if there are any other people on here that have done the 3 day fast that would like to share their experiences with me. I have once again decided to go onto the fast in an attempt to regain my early twenties youthful looks minus the dark shadows, mild acne and dry skin that I appear to be getting nowadays.

I have a major problem when it comes to self-confidence and I often find it hard to face the world without my make-up. My pimples are what causes this problem along with the fact that I feel constantly tired even after waking up and having gotten 9 hours sleep. I am grumpy, sometimes rude to friends, and not wanting to do much other than stay at home!!

This is obviously not normal and it is certainly not me. Which is the reason why I have decided to go on this fast and then cleanse for a wee while ... i mean what a better time to do it with it being spring and all Smile

So i'll keep you updated on my progress and please if you feel like messaging me please feel free to do so ... I need the encouragement Smile

Ok

So I woke up this morning and took a glass of hot water with lemon and cayenne pepper; I did want to include molasses but unfortunately I didn't have any so I had to make do with what I have. As of this moment I feel OK I have taken a hot bath without feeling dizzy. ALthough I am a little concerned about my dry skin although I have leftover blemishes from previous pimples I have slight dry skin due to having put calamine lotion on. Does anybody know whether I should just leave my skin alone by just washing with water and that's it until it clears up or will that do more harm than good. I have coconut oil and jojoba oil perhaps I could try putting that on or wheat germ oil ?

Right I am off to the health store to get some juices for the day. Lets keep fingers crossed.

Does anybody know that whilst I am doing the three day cleanse can I take the cleansing drink and even do a saltwater flush ? Or should I wait and do these things seperately? It's just that I have been drinking prune and vege juice and have had runney poo I don't want to overdo it ... is this normal ???

If you already have very unformed stools, don't do a SWF, it's very probably unnecessary. Just make sure to get enough fluids, which can be either the cleansing drink or rehydrating drink.

Thanks Shelley, I'll do just that as I really don't want to overdo it. Can you tell me do you know much about homeopathic medicine i'll i went to see a homeopath and she prescribed me my remedy which until 2 weeks later after I started taking it I realised I had been taking it wrong and was indeed taking four times more than I was suppose to. Would this be the reason why I keep breaking out in tiny little whiteheads on my chin ...

Except for some of the colds/flu and hemrrhoid aids that work very well, homeopathic medicine is but a principle that you can apply to just about anything to find a safe dose of something, but won't actually "cure" anything! Waste of time for most things involving hormones, microbes and the endocrine system! Only a temporary relief for anything involving digestion. Don't waste your money on homeopathic practitioners. One tiny little manual will teach you everything they know.

Oh really, well I continue taking this medicine and see what happens. Urm one other thing and then i'll leave you alone !! I am fasting what should I but on my face while I am breaking out ?

Just keep it clean. If there's pus, don't fast completely, take some nourishment and digestive enzymes and use something like Witch Hazel to keep down the infection. The Protein Shake with nutritional yeast flakes are very nourishing. Also good is Cal-Mag Fizz. You have to make your body the right kind of alkaline to get rid of spots.

Oh really why shouldn't I fast completely ? LAst time I did although I did cheat by adding a salad my skin really cleared up.

So I have started taking the cleansing drink now which i will take morning and night with molasses ... is this enough to replace the minerals that I will so desperately need ??

The cleansing drink will help tremendously, but it doesn't have EVERY mineral. For that it's best to use nutritional yeast flakes plus a sea salt and/or trace mineral supplement. Then you can take a multi-mineral, or just the minerals you know you need.

I don't often recommend total fasting for acne people, because usually they suffer from total congestion, yes, which total fasting helps, but they ALways suffer from deficiencies, which total fasting does NOT help. It's best to do a combination cleanse (fiber-based bowel cleanse plus enemas plus detox baths) with judicious nourishment, or tonifying. You need to raise the digestive fire and the quality of the food you're eating to permenantly get rid of acne.

It depends on the type of acne what exactly is going wrong. If, for example, you have tiny eruptions that never have whiteheads, and they tend to group themselves on one side of the face and not the other, then your problem is due to a lack of minerals. If they're all over it's more hormones, which can also be minerals. If they develop the white pus, the problem is a weak liver, reduced bile, reduced digestive enzymes, reduced B vits, reduced stomach acid levels... etc. All that leads to a congested body. Imagine a swimming pool or fish tank with no filters and no algea eaters. That's your body! So fasting helps give the body time to cleanse itself, but you still have the deficiencies, so as soon as you start eating again the toxins build up yet again etc ad infimum.

So I stuck with my cleansing and my goodness by this Thursday I just couldn't believe how much my skin had improved I was so confident that I hardly had to wear any makeup !! Oh but then that couldn't last long could it ? I restarted the pill yasmin last Monday so my guesses are that it is that which has sent my skin crazy again it's nothing major just little pimples like 6 or something like that ... have a face mask on right now and am stopping the pill for one month to see if it makes much of a difference ... if it does I might go and try and get on Diane 35 because I need to be on something but not on something that makes me break out ... so I am back to my raw food diet which I am not going to give up on after what my skin was like thursday just gone !! I'll kepp you guys informed ....

Hey

Shelley you say that it is best to be on a fibre cleanse ? What kinda foods do you recommend then as I feel a little bit lost at the moment. I start a new job in a couple of weeks so i really wanna try and get this problem on the mend !! I work with children so I wanna look my best Smile

I was eating alot of fruit and vegetables last week and drinking tons of water until I went back to work and started eating fruit gums again which are the dreaded sweets that I have a weakness for !! I think I need to hide all the sweets in my apartment to stop me from eating them !!

I really like the idea of this cleanse so please a little bit of advice as what to eat would be fab!!

When will I learn that not using a misuriser will actually make ones face much worse than before. I should know this ... I go on holiday I have to cream my face otherwise i'd end up looking like a lobster I wear no make-up and my skin is amazing ...

Rules for the week to moisturise, no makeup, drink 2L water and eat lots of fruit, vege, seeds.

One day and I already see a difference. NO MORE SUGAR NO NO NO NO. I am going to quit sugar for a month at least the refined stuff that fills so many shop shelves today. In a month I will try and find pure dark chocolate and try making my own. Sounds fun

Any of the Essential Recipes in the FAQ are good places to start. They are highly nourishing without being clogging, most are in fact quite cleansing. If you make up a huge batch of kichadi, just eating that and protein shakes is a very comfortable and thorough cleanse. There are a couple salads that will cure acne because they cleanse the bowels or liver so thoroughly.
