|
|
Has anyone heard of something like this before? My only problem is that i'm belching like a mad man whenever i eat/drink something, up to hours after i eat. I'm not sure, i might be beurping even when i don't eat/drink.
I was starting to get a cold, but managed to avoid it - no throat pain, no temperature, but feeling a bit week, and didn't sleep well on the night of saturday/sunday. Than sunday, feeling ok i ate pizza and chocolate, and then the burping started. Didn't think much of it as it didn't bothered me, but it seem to be going worse. I don't really feel bad, perhaps a bit tightnes in the stomach if i concentrate on it. Not sleeping well (dut i don't burp when i sleep), but that started prior to burping. No heartburn, or stomachbowl pain), thou digestion seems to have slowed down.
I did cleanses and liver flushed, but never got rid of tongue coating. My goal was to start living clean come 1.1 so i ate like a pig during the holiday. As it is now, i have no idea how to treat this...like an upset stomach, bowel disorder or something else entirely. Any ideas anyone? I'm thinking it's the liver, probably got all clogged up again and thru everything in disaray, but i could be wrong.
PS After some googling around i come some thread where people complained they just kept belching for years and years with doctors and diagnosis not helping them, which kind of spooked me out
Even now i'm burping like crazy for the last half hour after drinking some milk thistle tea, and having eatin very little today (green smoothie in the morning, overboiled white rice for lucnh, and that thing when you mix flour and water and fry it - no grease of any kind, somehinting that's always given to people with upset stomach).
Weird, i'd prefer i had a poisoning or something with normal reaction that hurts and then passes, then this painless torture.
Thanks |

refer those people to here! It's totally curable. For immediate relief, simply drink peppermint tea, or eat some Mentos, anything with a lot of peppermint. If the problem is chronic, then liver flush. Something got stuck somewhere, or your digestion is too weak somewhere along the line, which causes backflush.
The problem with curing it altogether is the real problem can be anywhere digestion goes wrong - low stomach acids, contaminated bile, not enough enzymes, even bad posture. I can usually tell based on other symptoms which it is, but most people have to assume the worst, try everything and eventually it goes away. |

Hi Shelly,
Unfortunately it was an old thread, but chech out this horror link - http://www.medhelp.org/forums/gastro/messages/37415.html - you have to feel for those poor people mangeled by medicine! That guy in tears from constant burping kinda freaked me out.
I've narrow it down to stomach and/or liver, as my symptoms are slight tightness in the upper part of stomach (which i attribute to air, but it could be something else) and i can feel the liver (or gallbladder) at night, as i could feel it prior to this.
I am drinking apple cider 3x daily and Milk Thistle tea, but i noticed yesterday seemed much better when i added wormwood tea. I even slept a bit better last night. Unfortunately today is a holiday so i can't buy peppermint, but i'll try it tomorrow. Really don't feel like doing a liver flush today, hopefully fiber (still have some Holitic Horizon mix) and your stone disoolving protocol will suffice, i'll give it another week and see what happens.
As always, thanks for the advice and reassuring words |

What happened to edit buttom? People like me will have to post 10x withouth them
Anyway, just remebered to add that i had (and still have) the weirdest case since month ago - those tentacle like things underneeth the tounge (not attached to the tounge, but to the lower jaw), one of them got inflamed, swollen and enlarged, ending up like a real tentacle. Maybe that indicates a certain organ. |

I don't know what happened to the edit button, but as a moderator, I still have it and have fixed your previous post's link.

| Wormwood is a pretty strong purgative. Purgatives make things move faster, which cures backflow. Hopefully it's not because you have worms! but you should check for that after thorough cleansing. |

Hi Shelley! I don't know if this is the appropriate place to ask this, but here goes:
I am having problem with digestion and making enough stomach acid. I always read that we should take ACV to increase acid. However, whenever I take it, I get the BURPS and GAS! and feel like my digestion is worse than normal. Any idea why this can be? I tried taking only 1 teaspoon this morning and I've been burping all day!!!!
Thanks, Agnes |

Hi Agnes! Burping is not always a problem with low stomach acids. If you're not taking calcium and getting plenty of B vits and organic salts, then you should be making nearly enough stomach acids most of the time. (we make less as we get older, that's pretty much inevitable.)
Burping and discomfort that lasts a long time is caused by backflow - that means that your body isn't allowing the foods to pass on through the digestive tract as fast as they would like. That can be due to lots of reasons, from congested liver (the most common) to structural/postural problems that cause distension in the stomach or compactions in the small intestine.
I'd start with a little liver cleansing and see if that helps. It could be the ACV is starting the process of shifting stones but not dissolving them all the way.
Hope that helps! |

I'm not big on the flavor of calamus, I find peppermint/ginger/fennel MUCH much easier to drink so I tend to recommend that instead.
The information on that page was quite good up until the homeopathic remedies. Since homeopathy tends to be very hit-or-miss I don't support it. Homeopathy claims to be able to cure things that have nothing to do with the principals of homeopathy, such as candida, and that is just wrong. |

Shelley, thanks for the idea about the acv. I will think about that. Actually, the cleansing drink seems to be really assisting my digestion now, so go figure!
Perhaps you can give me some thoughts on what might be going on with me now....Gall bladder discomfort! I have trouble digesting protein, and I have seen you say that is usually the liver. However, I have been liver cleansing and my last 3 flushes produced hardly anything....At first I thought I was having a bum flush, but after 3, I am wondering, could the stones be gone? But I have GB twinges when I eat protein or fats. I am really stumped! (I am using lecithin now.)
I have to admit to you I have eaten WAY too many nuts! They were my snack of choice for a long time and I overdid it. I am sure that has caused some of the problems. Now I am trying to get things right.
Thanks for you help, Shelley, as always! |

It could be you still have stones blocking the expulsion of bile, or it could be just your gallbladder and not liver, since you've done so much cleansing. Sometimes the gallbladder gets weak and doesn't like releasing the bile and we feel those twinges. In those cases usually lots of ginger tea and ginger in the diet will help. It takes down any swelling and once the tissues aer thinner they're also stronger and can contract and relax without any discomfort. So I'd try that, see if it helps. If it doesn't, get gold coin grass and take that.
Also check your diet and see if you could be low in the things the body needs to make healthy bile: Taurine (an essential protein found in cheese, meats, beans... if you were craving nuts a lot a taurine/protein deficiency may be why), B vits, beets, methionine... Keep taking the lecithin, it provides most of what you need, but the others help too.
Hope that helps! |

Thank you very much for your help, Shelley.
I will try eating more ginger. i drink ginger and peppermint tea everyday.
I wasn't really craving nuts and protein, I just ate a lot of it to avoid carbs while trying to balance the bowels. Seems like while you're working on one thing, you mess up another, doesn't it?
I'll keep with the cleansing drink, lecithin, carrot juice, etc and hope things get better! |
