I've been looking into the connection between mercury toxicity and candida. Lots of people think mercury dental fillings cause candida, but I always argued against that because candida is ALways in our bodies, so if it always caused susceptibility to systemic candididiasis getting out of hand, then everyone with dental fillings should be suffering from candida. And I had tons of silver dental fillings for years before I had problems with candida.
As it turns out, the connection between the two is dependent on how your body deals with Sulphur. If you have impaired sulfoxidation (can't assimilate chemicals containing sulphur, which are many as sulphur is a part of every protein and proteins build enzymes, hormones, ligaments, muscles, etc.) this sets up a spiral of deficiencies and impaired systems that leaves your cells very susceptible to fungus, bacteria, etc.
There's a lot of chemistry involved that I have to assimilate before I can put it into regular terms, but for now I'll just say that if you have Crohn's or otherwise tend to react to MSM and other products/foods that are high in sulfur, such as cabbage, garlic, and when you take these sulphur-rich compounds the intolerance is evidenced with diarrhea, then you need to plan out how to take care of the mercury issue. The ramifications are far reaching.
