Hi Shelley,

I was wondering if you have any advice for me. My son has had a bit of a cold, no biggie. But last night he drank some banana-strawberry kefir and went to bed saying he had a tummy ache now (right after drinking it). He was up at the early hours started vomiting. The kefir was still in his belly and it came out with a lot of mucus. I tried to give him a few sips of warm water after he had vomited and he threw that up. I then tried to give him a few drops of colloidal silver incase it was bacterial and he threw that up too. What worries me is that he can’t keep anything down so I fear he will become dehydrated. Also he has stomach cramps so badly that he cried out. He was constipated a few days ago but that seems to have cleared up as he voided fine today after vomiting, not diarrhea, but solid. He is vomiting a lot of mucus but he has no fever. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Is he generally intolerant to dairy? Sometimes even fermented milk will bother those who are lactose intolerant. Hopefully that's all that caused this, that and a healing crisis from the microbes. Children shouldn't be given large amounts of anything bacterial, most of my advice to eat fermented foods goes for adults, children should have teeny-tiny portions and get acclimated very slowly, a bit faster if they were breast-fed. When I had a small gass of strawberry kefir as a child I got bad cramps, as did my brother.
