- what you need to know to liver flush safely and effectively
Before you flush:
1. Do enough bowel management to have clean, well-shaped bowels as indicated by normal stools and transit times. Schedule a colonic for post-flush, and even pre-flush if you can, or have some other way to flush the bowels arranged.
2. Soften/dissolve the stones.
3. Consider correct amount and type of Epsom salts, oil, etc. They may be contra-indicated by kidney issues, for instance, or the flush recipe you read may have been written for 200 pound people, not 100 pound people.
4. It helps to prepare your digestion by fasting and drinking digestive tea.
During the flush:
1. Keep peppermint candies handy, they help settle the stomach.
2. You can lie any way that is comfortable. A heating pad or castor oil pack is nice. DO raise your upper body on some pillows tho, you need a bit of gravity helping you out. If you lie perfectly flat, things might "backflow" and you'll get nauseous and perhaps vomit.
3. Consider massaging the upper-right (your right) quadrant of the abdomen, where the liver is, by reaching under the ribs and pushing down towards belly button to help stones and oil move.
4. Consider doing 2 doses of oil so you can back out should you feel nauseous.
5. Even if you don't plan on using Epsom salts, have some there at the ready in case a stone gets stuck in the bile duct or constipation results.
Post-Liver Flush:
1. You must clean out the stones and toxins released ASAP starting with the morning after. The more flushing the better. Colonics, salt water flushes, enemas, colemas, saline laxatives, whatever you can do, preferably 3 times the week following.
2. Emergen-C helps with the hangover.
3. Only eat plain, bland food, preferably cooked and easy to digest. Kichadi, hot cereal, fruit compote, soup.
4. Wait at least 3 weeks before the next flush.
5. Consider doing other forms of liver management. Flushing is not always the entire answer.
6. Don't worry if you get very emotional post-flush. It's common to release emotions, or have toxins hit the brain in such a way that you end up getting irritable, angry, tearful, etc.
7. Expect to see strangely colored stools for awhile. If you see very pale, gray stools and have discomfort in the upper-right quadrant of the abdominal area, where the liver is, you may have a stuck stone and should do a mini-flush of two tablespoons oil followed by a Cleansing Drink.
And most importantly, know your options! so you can design the most comfortable and effective flush for you.

What about preparations with ACV? How much should I take before I flush? Do I take it with food or without?
Also, how much malic acid do I take and for how long?
Sorry for all the questions....I miss your FAQ!
Thanks!

The FAQ will be up soon, and liver flush recipe/protocols, the works!
Malic acid: 500 mg 2x day. It's okay if you can only find larger pills, still do 2x day.
ACV: at least a teaspoon 2x a day for as long as you like or as long as it's appropriate for your Dosha/weather, tons of benefits with ACV. You can add it to apple cider, it will taste better and gets you more malic acid. I keep meaning to use a pH strip to test whether it's acidic or alkaline, people on the 'net contradict each other and say both!!! so can't say for sure yet whether it's okay with meals or not. Most days it seems okay prior to meals for me. |

For how long before the flush do I take the ACV?
Also, I am concerned about taking soy lecithin. I know some people strongly avoid it because it is a soy product. I don't know too much about this subject and am wondering what your thoughts on this are?
Thank you!!

Ah, you're right to worry about soy products! but it's so refined, it really is JUST lecithin. It's like calcium from milk - there's no dairy there, just calcium. So in these types of cases refinement is a good thing and you don't really have to worry where it came from.
Acv is something you can take every day if it's right for your body type. It's part of the Cleansing Drink, which is a huge part of the cleansing stage. Anytime you try to cleanse anything, you should be drinking the cleansing drink, do occasional meal replacement with it, etc. |

This may be a very silly question, but how do I know if the ACV is right for my body type? Just by taking it?
I am Vata-Pitta, predominantly Pitta....prone to acne with very touchy digestion.
Thank you!

Pitta body types usually need ACV and do great on it.
The way you tell is via kinesiology (muscle testing) or scrying (pendulum) and just generally how you react to it. Do you like the taste? Crave it? Do you feel better after eating/drinking it, or do symptoms increase? If your pulse increases that's usually a dead-giveaway that the food is not good, unless it's a ramp-up food to begin with. And if your sinuses act up that's not good - unless it's a cleansing food. |

| Do you think it is neccesary to get rid of parasites before a liver flush? |

| No. Parasite protocols should come after all your other protocols. |

I really want to start my liver flush tonight, but am worried about working tomorrow. I'll have time to pass stones in the morning, but I don't want to be running to the bathroom all day tomorrow at work.
How long does it take to get through "the worst of it"? Any thoughts?
Thanks. |

| Hard to say. I use Citro-Mag (magnesium) instead of epsom salts, and there's very little running to the bathroom. |
