Hi there,

I recently carried out a few neti salt water flushes of my nasal passage, and soon after i noticed that my left upper eye lid, not the eye lid itself, but the fluid-holding part (atleast i assume it held fluid, or is it a sinus?) above the eye lid has become deflated and i can see the outline of my eye socket bone.

It looks really horrible, and has been like this for about a week now.
It seems to be more hydrated upon waking but after a few hours it returns. I'm worried that it will be like this permanently now.

So i have some questions!

1) will it be permanent?
2) Is it fluid, (just water?), that fills out that area?
3) How can i rectify it, will it correct itself if i drink lots of water?
4) Can you recommend any form of home made topical solution i could make (out of egg whites for e.g) that would help tackle the problem aswel?

Thanks so much!

Hmm... are you saying that you used to have blepharitis but now you don't?

blepharitis..?

I just googled that but it only talks of swollen, and "crusty" eyelids, so no, i dont think i've ever had that.

Its my UNDER brow, the area below my left eye-brow that appears to have lost the fluid held there (if it is fluid).

please advise shelley...im worried about it!

Sad

Well, the lack of fluids is usually a GOOD thing. The eye socket is supposed to have a little bit of polysaccherides to cushion the eye, but around the brow bone there's no need for such cushioning. So it could be that you were seeing an allergic condition, not something healthy, and are healthy now! But just to be sure, get your thyroid checked and a physical if you never have before, as wonky thyroid and kidneys can cause fluctuations like that.

Hi Shelley,

sorry for not getting back sooner i forgot about my post....

It seems to be getting worse, and definately nothing ive ever seen before.
It looks really awful, almost as if ive got fat wasting in my face Sad

Could it be something wrong with my lachrymal gland?

I will arrange for some blood tests to be done to see how my thyroid is...

If you have any before/after pictures I'd like to see them, otherwise I don't know what to tell you. Is it ONLY your left side that is doing this?
