|

Hi, Shelley. It's been quite some time since I've posted on your board.
I'm 41, female. I've gotten my health under control to the exception of uterine fibroids. I am waiting to have tests done at my next yearly exam, however, I suspect I have them and have had them for about 20 years or more. I read through the Fibroid section on curezone and experience most of the symptoms most of the women there do, persistent back and neck pain, long periods, swollen abdomen (had that since I was 16), persistent pelvic pain, clotting, passing of vein-like tissue during periods, etc. I miscarried 3 years ago. I always feel bloated even after my period.
I started earnestly following the blood type diet for A-in April. Whenever I veer off the diet, my digestion suffers for it. This diet has made me feel the most healthy I've felt in years.
When I started drinking a large glass of lemonade first thing in the morning more than a year ago it helped stop the heavy periods (flooding), but it's starting to chip my front teeth so I fear I need to discontinue it. I've had one tooth repaired 4 times in the past year and I believe the acid in the lemonade keeps eating away at the adhesive. I rinse my mouth immediately with water, but it's obviously not helping.
Anyhow, I am hoping you know of something I can try to shrink the fibroids. I thought I read that Chinese bitters help fibroids, but I can't find that info on curezone. I already take digestive enzymes. I'm leary of trying many of the things suggested on curezone because I'm not sure how they'll work with the blood type diet. What helps a type O might be the thing that makes the fibroids larger for me.
I really value your opinion. Do you have any suggestions, Shelley?
Thank you so very much for your time. |

Hi Em! It's so great to hear that the blood type diet is working for you! So all you really have to do now is fine-tune things.
People who are prone to things like fibroid tumors have to keep their livers very clean; make sure their endocrine system is balanced (make sure your physical includes a thyroid panel), and also they should learn about phyto-estrogen (estrogen in plants) and the potassium/zinc angle.
To that end, check out Julia's site: www.sensiblehealth.com and get not the Chinese Bitters but the Fem-Mate. Vitex should help you shrink them. She also lists the plants rich in estrogen, which is important to know. I wouldn't worry about carrots, they never bothered me, but the rest are suspect, particularly raspberry leaves - no raspberry teas!
Then go to www.acu-cell.com and read up on potassium, zinc, and how they affect estrogen, under the Nutrition link.
If you juice fruits and veggies, be very careful not to overdose. Keep to 8 ounce servings or less.
Following are the nutritional factors. You won't be high in manganese if you're not supplementing, chances are you're low. If your left knee ever bothers you, you're low.
Fibroid Tumors (breast / uterine fibroids): Low germanium, low silicon / silica, low iodine, high/low manganese, low Vit C, low Vit E, low EFAs, high coffee / chocolate / caffeine intake, [opt. isoflavones].
Hope that helps! |
