Hi Shelley,

ok, last visit to dr. i had borderline high BP, now, I get very nervous going there, you know the "white coat syndrome" so I'm hoping that's what it is , I don't have a home BP monitor and cant' really get one right now either, but I was wondering if there are any type of symptoms taht I can watch for to tell me it it's going up? I know they usually say there aren't any, yet I have some friends who seem to know, they say they get head and chest (and ear) pressure, I don't get that, but I don't know if there might be any OTHER types of symptoms?. So, what can I do to lower my BP? what type of herbs or vit.'s and minerals would help that?

Also, latley, I've been getting this weird sort of feeling when I swollow, down by my left lung area, which must obviously be my esophogus. It's like whenh you swollow a BIG pill, and as it goes down, you know that feeling you can get in your esophagus? It's sort of feels as if it's either scratching your esophagus, or pressing against it as it goes down, and you feel it in your back? well, that's the feeling. It's only happ. twice latley, yesterday and just now. BOth times though, I was eating or drinking something cold. Of course, you knwo me, I get nervous about these things, so, if you could tell me what you think that is, I'd be grateful!

thanks Shelley!

Don't drink cold things, they can cause acid reflux which is very uncomfortable, and be very careful with drinking a lot of citrus or iced tea as we all tend to do when it gets hot out.

High blood pressure can be caused by these deficiencies: Low magnesium, low potassium, low zinc, high/low calcium,
high/low sodium, high phosphorus, high iron, high/low Vitamin E, high/low choline, high Vit B1, low Vit B2, low Vit B5, low Vit B15, low folate, low Co Q10.

I'd take Co-Q10 first, cal/mag second, avocadoes and NYF, and back off of foods high in phosphorus for awhile. If you start taking drugs to lower blood pressure you should invest in a cuff and take readings daily.

Hope that helps! Smile

shelley,

i'd rather not take BP meds, I've heard some scary things about that, what do you think about them? also, I jsut read a very good article on high BP, and they said that basically, the REAL culprit, is lack of minerals, just as you said! OK, so I will do the protocol you suggeted.... also, I've also read that perimenopause can also cause your BP to elevate at times, have you herd this? I wouldn't be surprised, since hormones seem to affect EVERYTHING ELSE! I was also told to eat oatmeal, what do you think? (isnt' that also good for cleaning out your arteries?), and speaking of arteries, what is good for cleaning them out anyway?

thank you shelley

Oatmeal binds minerals, I never recommend it except for the rare treat of steel cut oats or rolled oats that should be slow-cooked overnight. I mainly only recommend the cereals I mention in the candida diet: Bob's Red Mill cereal mixes, brown rice farina, quinoa, and if you don't have a wheat sensitivity, cream of wheat.

To clean out the arteries all you have to do is make sure your tongue is never coated, eat a low-sugar diet, avoid trans-fats and deep-fried fats, and drink the protein shake with plenty of lecithin.

hi shelley,

ok, now how would i make sure my tongue is never coated? I know this may sound silly to you, but I honestly don't know. I know some people brush their tongues, which I have done on occassion, but it seems to kind of be a little sensitive. Do you mean, perhaps, that if you are eating the right things, your tongue won't be coated in the first place? I just looked in the mirror, my tongue is a little coated, not drastically, but it's there, in fact, it ususally is, is that very bad?! If I eat the right foods, and the protein shake (by the way, WHAT protein shake?) will that take away the coating and would that then mean my arteries are on their way to becoming "clean'? Am I to understand that if your tongue is coated, that that is one of the signs of clogged arteries? I wish I knew what a coated tongue meant.

OK, one more question , today, it was very very hot here, and I had been out in the heat for a few hours, driving around. I came home into air conditiong, and drank some water, and had a piece of some cranberry crumb cake that a neighbor had made and given to us. I turned around rather quickly (which I ususally do) to grab something before it fell in my kitchen.....and when I did, OH BOY! All of a sudden, I got this "wave" over my head (not like those other times I had that strange almost black out episodes, i know you remember those!) no, this was diff. - it wasn't as severe. It was really just a moment where my ears became very pressureized and so did the left side of my head! I felt almost faint for a few minutes, and had to quickly sit down. The feeling in my ears and head was the same pressure you get when you're on a plane, and it's just taking off, it's ascending, and that "pressure" feeling starts in your ears and your head. Well, it was like that. But, it was pretty bad! My legs got all shakey, and like i said, i felt somewhat faint. I sat down for about 15 minutes, and felt very weird. Then, i became VERY detached! VERY withdrawn. There were no visual disturbances, I wasn't struggling to keep myself from fainting (like those other times), I just "felt" kind of faint. But, after about 15 minutes, I decided not to let this get me. I got up, drove my son to work, and took a xanax to calm down hoping maybe it was nerves that brough that on. (or perimenopause). The xanax helped somewhat, but I still felt VERY detached and a tiny bit queasy for hours. I finally fell asleep a few hrs. ago, and have been awake now for about 2 hrs. I feel better, somewhat back to normal, but not altogehter, i feel very tired, slightly detached.
What do you think that was? I am trying not to get so nervous about it, and told myself it was probably just hormones, or nerves, or perhaps a drop in blood pressure, or blood sugar? I hope to God it wasn't that my blood pressure was to HIGH! I don't know what the symptoms of high blood pressure would be anyway. Does that happen if you have to high blood pressure?

shelley, thank you once again! Sincerely, Starlight

yes, the whole point of this forum is to teach people to eat right so that their tongue is rarely coated, which means they are digesting compeltely, whichi means no placque on veins, no premature aging.
