I have a friend who suffers so badly from hayfever, it really makes him miserable.

He already has a pretty good diet - fruits, vegetables, raw eggs, good oils, organic meats, some grains - he drinks a bit of coffee or tea moderately, moderate alcohol, smokes a little (maybe 1 a day on average).

His hayfever has improved a bit in the last couple of years, since I helped him detox his diet - but it's still there. He take megadosages of antihistamines to try and knock out the symptoms, which in themselves make him drowsy and bad tempered.

He puts Nasaleze in his nostrils which helps the amount of pollen he absorbs, and uses an air conditioner in his home.

He was asking me again for advice tonight, as the hayfever season approaches.

The only thing I could think of was to liver cleanse - one month preparation with Chang tinctures, lecithin, ACV, then a series of flushes. But I don't think this will hit it in time, as the season is starting in April. Also maybe Emergen C.

What is your view Shelley - can someone ever cure themselves of the hayfever allergy, and how should they go about it?

Thanks

cleansing the liver helps everything, but for hayfever what you want to do is take a bit of the hair of the dog, as it were. Just a tiny bit, to try and teach the body that it's not so bad. That's one possible protocol. I think most people take miniscule amounts of royal jelly/bee pollen, preferably harvested from the same area as the airborne pollen comes from.

A Vitamin C flush often does wonders. Follow it with plenty of good oils that help the lymphatic system - coconut, olive, carrot juice/butter or cod liver, and plenty of probiotics.

Cat's claw helps allergy sinus headaches, nettle and feverfew help the immune system, and hayfever is one instance where homeopathic remedies may help.

Ok, I will try those things out with him. Thanks so much!

I've done some research for pollen -

I can get pollen or royal jelly from Norfolk, which is 115 miles away (we live in London)

...or...

Local raw set honey from London bees (tho London's pretty big!)

I wonder which would be better - maybe the Norfolk pollen is the best bet, as the honey might not have enough pollen in (or is it enough as hair of dog?) ... It's tree pollen he reacts to.
Also he avoids sugar because of blood sugar problems / candida.

I'll ensure he's getting the probiotics, carrot juice + CLO, and he's already on the coconut and olive oils.

I thought cups of nettle tea would be good, with cat's claw capsules on hand in case of a headache. We tried homeop. last year to no avail, just one I got in a healthfood shop - might try again this year ...

If he's trying to chase away a hayfever attack - how many packets of Emergen C can he take? I know he's going to ask me this one, & if I don't tell him he'll probably take 20 Laughing

He can take one every four hours for 24 hours. That's a flush.
