Appearantly, acne around the mouth could be related to a sensitivity to fruit acids. This seems to go for me as well, as I suspect that eating pears and apples have made me break out recently. What could be the reasons for acne people reacting to these acids? One would expect fruit not bring the reason for breaking out..

Did you read Shelley's post in regards to refined sugars depleting B vits from the body maybe too much of acidic fruit has much the same affect. Remember that updosing the concentration of B vits dramatically helps to clear up mouth acne. Since taking a B supplement a day along with a daily intake of molasse the acne around my mouth has gotten so much better.

Good luck Chrissi x

Acidic fruits are very cleansing and some skin/body types are quite sensitive to them because they just don't need as much vitamin C type acids as other people. Vitamin C is a lot like alcohol - we all have very different needs/tolerances.

The breakouts are often due to a lack of Vitamin E and lymph cleansers like coconut oil, an issue that acids exacerbate. If you have the breakouts at the mouth without the fruit acids then it's definitely a lack of B vits.

I get acne around my mouth when I eat dairy. It also irritates my leaky gut problem.

Yes that is because dairy messes with the hormones especially if you are a girl it can (if you are sensitive) send your estrogen levels souring through the roof .... leading to spots around and on the chin area. Best to try and cut out as much dairy as you can and replace the calcium with calcium and magnesium supplements
