Help! I just found out my male lab has a tumor in his chest that is pushing up on is esophagus. Inoperable. Crying or Very sad He has intermittent pain when he exerts himself and then lies down wrong.

Was wondering if anyone had any knowledge on cancer and dogs. I've heard the theory of carbs feeding cancer so may try a high protein diet.

Anyone heard of transfer factor? Any opinions? Question

I'll do what i can for as long as i can...can't hurt.

Any opinions welcome. Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

oh dear poor thing! that is too bad. Unfortunately, cancers can be fed by different things. Some cancers only need calories. However, the beginning of the cancer is either due to genetics or toxins. IF it is due to toxins, then a better dog food is certainly in order, altho I wouldn't necessary recommend a high-protein one. A balanced one, or find out for sure whether the tumor is hormonal or not.

vet said it was one of those freakish things...so i'm guessing toxins. I'm doing some research into dog food and supplements to give him. all we can do is try! Can't hurt, I suppose.

Thanks!

There are lots of good food supplements for dogs. You can also sprinkle nutritional yeast flakes on his food.

Innova is an excellent organic, natural dog food that's full of anti-oxidants, which are the best cancer-scavengers.

Thanks Susan - pup is doing a little better. Put him on Omega 3s (and E), Probiotic, carrots, and transfer factor. He's gained 5 pounds in 10 days! Don't know what the deal is, besides a little wet food to administer meds, he's not getting that much more food. We went in for a second opinion too and the esophagus didn't look as bent. ?!?!?!?!? AND he hasn't yelped in pain for 3 days. I did have a friend of mine do some energy work on him a couple times, maybe that realigned his healing energy. Who knows. All i know is that his blood work is better and he feels better.

I am definitely going to keep the product you posted in the ideas cabinet though in case he looses his appetite. Seems like a great source of the rhubarb.

I'm just going to be thankful and see - nothing else we can really do anyway.
