I have 3 cats all from the same litter who are a little over a year old. Up until a month or so ago, they were all thriving. Now, two of them are thriving, and one has lost a lot of weight. She looks scrawny, like a stray that never gets fed. She eats, as much as the other two, and does not appear sick or unhappy, but I'm concerned about the weight loss. My gut feeling is parasites (worms) and I've considered taking her to the vet, but first off, I don't want to put anything into my kitty that could be bad for her, and if it is parasites, I will need to treat the other two also, and the dog (less than 1 year old beagle pup) and that can get pretty pricey with the vets visits and wormers. Anyone know of a good home-made wormer for small animals? Or anything I can try to fatten her up to see if it really is parasites? Bottom line is, I love my pets and will take them in if no one has any ideas, but thought I would post here first just to see if anyone has any ideas.
