Just to clarify something that has been confusing a few of our wonderful members. Smile

In the FAQ I say that the textbook bowel movement (don't you just love talking about this kind of stuff? LOL!) is long, about 2" in diameter, somewhat firm and formed, and uniform in texture in color. And when we are not cleansing, that is what we want in the morning after a high-fiber day. Ideally.

However, if we're cleansing our bowels or our liver, taking laxatives and diuretics, liver herbs, cleansing carrot salads, you can expect your stools to be looser, thinner, sometimes just diarrhea and THAT'S PERFECTLY OKAY!

Thin stools are fast-moving stools, and that's what you want during the cleansing stage. You want things to EXIT FAST. And you want to be properly hydrated, which means soft stools.

You can get diarrhea/softer stools simply by increasing your intake of potassium (potassium broth, juicing, cleansing drink) and Vitamin C. In fact, lots of people have constipation simply because they are very low in these vital nutrients, so the body keeps trying to absorb them from the stool which takes out all the water too.

It's common to get yellow stools whilst cleansing, espeically during enemas, because they don't have time to turn brown, and that's okay too.

Now if you've had severe diarrhea for more than 3 days, stop what you're doing and take a break. The body gets very depleted and dehydrated from diarrhea - it costs you more than constipation and can kill much much faster.

Hope that cleared things up! Wink

Thanks a lot Shelly.
I knew that from reading other forums on other sites, like Curezone, but I am making a copy of your post to give to my hubby. He complains of going too often, which is once a day. He is supposed to have an abnormally long bowel. Even though that might be, I still try to tell him to drink, drink, drink, while taking the P&B shakes so he can have at least two movements per day.

I just hope your info will encourage him to "loosen up" ! ! ! Laughing

Hi Shelley,
I have been taking the Renew Life Cleanse Smart system for about 2 weeks now. For the past week, I have had 1 or 2 bm's a day that have been really really loose or just plain diarrhea. I do not have any cramping or discomfort though. I see that your post says this is 'ok' while cleansing, however the instructions on the box say to discontinue use if loose stools or diarrhea develop. Prior to starting Cleanse Smart, I was an every other day or every 3 days BM. Is it dangerous to have diarrhea like this every day? I won't be done with the Cleanse Smart for another 2 weeks. I'm just worried that I'm causing more harm than good. While it is nice to know that I'm eliminating more often than I used to, I'm worried that my body is trying to tell me something - should I be concerned? Thanks

3 days is the maximum length of time for very watery stools. After that you risk dehydration and mineral depletion. So lower the dose and/or stop taking it every 3 days. I don't like Renew Life products personally, I heard some awful things about the woman who started it and her lack of quality assurance.
