hello!

Is coconut milk fine to drink regularly?...as an alternative to other non-dairy drinks? You see, I've never tried drinking it before, but I'm interested. Is it good?
-Must you buy the coconut as a whole, and are they to be the baby ones or adult brown ones?
Or is it fine to just buy the milk in cans/carton?
-Do you know if this type of milk replaces dairy creams, like those used in drinks and cooking recipies? Oh. and can I use this milk for making kefir?
Sorry for the questions and thank you Very Happy

Coconut milk is very healthy. Personally, I like to drink it by itself, but you may not. You might prefer to use it in recipes. It's okay to buy the cans, as long as there's nothing nasty added! I buy a really nice organic coconut milk, it comes in a can but consists of nothing but coconut and water. Smile

You have to use cow or goat's milk for kefir, Coconut milk doesn't have lactose which is what the microbes feed on.

Coconut milk is fantastic, but don't just use that. Use kefir and Rice Milk and occasionally Almond Milk because they all have different advantages, plus it's more cost-effective. Wink

Thanks you two!!

shelley, is it bad to drink rice or almond milk regularly all the time (since at the moment I cannot have dairy milk, my tongue still says no...erggh).

-About the Kefir, I haven't ever made it myself yet, so I have been wondering if we are to use only Raw Milk to make this? (I hope I can find it, by the way!)

In the meantime, I must finally get my hands on some kind of store-bought Kefir - Is it possible to find a good quality Kefir that is from Non-Pastuerized, Raw Milk? -> Is this important to look out for anyway?...Does it matter?, or are they all pastuerized? Confused
Thank you very much

Nope, vanilla rice dream is fantastic for daily use unless you have really bad candida and have to carefully watch all sugars. I had it all through my candida protocol and it never coated my tongue or increased symptoms. I'm avoiding milk too currently, apart from the occasional whipped cream on cake or ice cream. Wink

You can use pasteurized milk.

It really doesn't matter. Ideally, yes, raw is best, but oh well... it's still essential to get the kefir microbes.

Smile Oh thank you Shelley

The Almond Milk that I use right now is a vanilla sweetened kind (Almond Breeeze). Would this be considered worse compared to rice (as in refined sugars from evaporated cane juice)?
The plain almond just tastes yucky to me, lol.
