Does anyone besides me suffer a dry throat when they drink water? For some reason when I drink water I get an extremely dry throat, which actually makes it hard to swallow. I drink purified water but it still happens. If anyone of you have suffered from this please let me know what you did to get rid of it, other than not drinking water.
Thank you

I've had this happen before. One thing you can try is to add a little pinch of salt and some natural sugar to your water (such as honey or maple syrup or a touch of fruit juice) Nothing major, just a touch.
Does your throat get tight on the sides sometimes, particularly if you haven't eaten in awhile? I ask because your dry throat could be a sugar balance issue (hormones), or if just very dry when drinking water, it could be a saline issue with adrenals specifically. How dry is your air where you live/work? Do you drink distilled water, or does your water have some minerals in it? Dasani, for example, has minerals. Aquafina is completely stripped of them. It is therefore more acidic. I used to drink Aquafina but switched to clean waters that have their original minerals or have had some minerals added back, such as Dasani. I noticed immediately a difference when I got off distilled and Aquafina waters. Those waters seemed so harsh, and did make my throat sore, but the mineral rich waters were much softer and easier to drink. |

Sorry it took me so long to get back to this post.
Actually I am drinking 24/7. True not always water but a liquid of some kind, because if I don't I get a dry throat feeling and then start coughing. I have been this way for years. I was drinking aquafina, but switched to a product called ice water, and lo and behold no more dry throat. When I am at home I drink reverse osmosis water and it sometimes causes the same problem but not as often. I did take your advice tho and added just a pinch of celtic salt to the water and I do very good with it now. Thank you so much. |
