Hi,
I am a 20 year old college student and I have only recently stumbled across this bowel/liver flush information as a possible cure for acne. I have had acne for about 5 years on my back and chest and face. I have read the faq and several other protocols on other websites on how to do these flushes, but honestly the idea scares me to death. Everything just sounds so strange...drinking salt water, drinking olive oil, enemas...I am definitely scared. I guess I am just uncertain as to what exactly I should do. You offer several options for cleansing bowels and livers-which should I do? I am pretty set against doing an enema, first because I am uncertain about its benefits for me, second because I have very little privacy in my college apartment, and third because it seems like it would be expensive. Is there something else I can do for a healthy colon? What protocol would you suggest I follow? |

| I am a college student too, with little privacy, money, etc. I really like salt water flushes as you do not need any equipment, like you would with enemas. But it does take some time, it doesn't taste the best, though i never had trouble getting the salty water down, and you might not feel the greatest for a day. Enemas really are the best way to go, but in a cramped apartment maybe the SWF would work for your lifestyle. Good luck, there are some really helpful people on this site that will probably have lots more suggestions. |

Hi Laney,
You're not alone. I've been into natural health for years, and it took me a year of reading about liver flushing to actually do one. It is a lot of info to take in. Just keep reading, trying to implement what you can when you can.
For bowel cleansing, you could try fiber shakes (recipe somewhere in FAQ) + laxatives. These didn't work so well for me, but for some they do. Alternatively, you could get something like Colonix, which you can get for about $60 on ebay usually. Enemas are nice, but you don't have to do them. If you can, you could spring for maybe 2-3 colonics. Don't be afraid! The one drawback is the expense ($50-70 per), but they are VERY effective and efficient at getting the crap outta there! At least in my experience.
If you start to follow as much of the diet guidelines as you can, you very well might see a decrease in your acne. I have acne too, but I can pretty much control it with a good diet. Also, bowel cleansing did a lot for my skin. Good luck to ya. Just know that there are many of us acne-people going this route. |
