While searching natural way for reliving my dog from arthritis I found this yahoo group. Most of them are feeding their dogs with raw food diet and after reading a lot I decided to give it a try.
I started one month ago and have great results for so far. My 6 year old is not limping and she can play much more with her son. My one year old had neuter surgery and his recovery was much faster and his overall health and agility is much better.

Here is how I feed them:

muscle meat: 40%-, organ meat: 10%, RMBs ( raw meaty bones - include chicken necks, backs, leg quarters, wings; turkey necks; lamb and pork necks and breast (riblets), and sometimes beef necks (which are harder and may not be consumed) – 50%.

I also add some steamed veggies, whatever I have in the fridge. Great natural anti inflammatory herb is Turmeric ( Curcuma) and was very helpful for my 6 year old. If any of you have the same problem fell free to contact me for more info.

All the best,
ivana

I have a 10 year old lab mix that has been showing signs of arthritis for the past year. I switched her dog food to IAMS active maturity back when it had glucosamine, but it no longer has it in the ingredients list. Do you have any recommendations for commercial dog foods?

Also, the vet recommended Synovi G3 chews so we just finished a tub of 240 chews. I'm looking for another product since I noticed the second ingredient in the chews is sucrose which is sugar.
