Hi Shelley:

I was wondering if you could recommend me on how to use Julia Chang's GCG and Chinese Bitters (CB). I already read the insturctions but would get the opinion of someone that has already used them.

Would it be ok take CB first for 3 weeks and then start the GCG to soften/crush stones maybe for 2 weeks, which is approximately what a bottle lasts?

Also, while on either one (GCG or CB) is it ok to take both coptis and curcuma at bedtime? How long should these 2 herbs (coptis and curcuma) should be taken?

Thanks a lot for your guidance,
Roberto

Hiya Roberto! Always nice to hear from you. Smile

What I liked doing with CB and GCG is to take CB in between flushes, and GCG about 7-10 days prior to a flush. Julia recommends the opposite sometimes, assuming that most people have poor bile production. That was never a problem for me, so my aim was to dissolve the stones as much as possible immediately prior to the flush. I had great success with this as I saw stuff come out I'd never seen before - kind of like algea.

While taking CB I also took Coptis. I didn't bother iwth the curcoma, but taking coptis and curcoma at night while taking CB in the morning is great.

The herbs should be cycled. I like 2 week, or 10 day, or 1 month cycles when it comes to herbs. After a cycle ends, I check my symptoms list, see if I've met any goals, take a break, and two weeks later figure out via intuition/kinesiology/symptoms list whether I should take another cycle's worth. Since Julia's tinctures are so strong, I don't think you need more than a 2 week cycle unless it's your first time with liver herbs, in which case a month is good.

Hope that makes sense! Smile
