My 5 day juice fast by propaul
5 day fruit/veggie juice fast with enemas and laxatives This is a harsh and rather difficult fast to follow. This is my attempt to reduce my blood sugar and my blood pressure.
General
Every day during the fast, I drink, daily, at least 8 glasses (8 oz) of water besides any other liquids.
If I do not prepare for this fast, I find myself unable to follow it. So preparation is nearly as important as the fast itself.
I take a daily bath or shower during the fast because I exude garlic odor.
I usually start my fast on a Monday.
For anyone wanting more details go to the last part of article.
Preparation to fasting
Friday - before the fast
Just before going to bed, I take a laxative (2 capsules of Cascara Sagrada).
Saturday - before the fast
I eat one full meal and a second meal with light food. Both meals are in the AM. I drink, no limit, fruit and vegetable juices and potassium broth. In the afternoon I take a cleansing soapsuds enema. Before going to bed I take a laxative (2 capsules of Cascara Sagrada).
Sunday - before the fast
I eat only 1 meal with solid but light food and sparingly. I eat this meal in the morning. I drink as much as I want fruit, vegetable juices and potassium broth. In the afternoon I take a deep cleansing soapsuds enema (minimum 3 bags of 2 quarts). This series enema takes a good 4 hours.
I wait 40 minutes after my last bowel movement then take a 1 quart coffee retention enema
Fasting
1st day Monday
First thing in the morning I drink a lemon juice flush..
Then I take a high garlic enema. This is a cleansing of my bowels. It also allows the garlic juice to be absorbed by my body. With patience I do complete the whole operation.
I drink 1 glass of fruit juice with one tablespoon of freshly ground flax seed. Maximum of 2 glasses of 8 ounce fruit juice per day. I have to watch for too much sugar.
I wait half an hour before switching to vegetable juice (2 - 8 oz glass max). I drink as much potassium broth as I want with added protein powder.
In the afternoon I take a second tablespoon of freshly ground flax seed with my drink.
2d day Tuesday
First thing in the morning I drink a lemon juice flush.
Then I take a high garlic enema. Again I do not skip any steps of this process. My bowels have been partially cleansed and I have less difficulty taking this enema. Garlic juice absorption will improve daily.
I take one tablespoon of freshly ground flax seed with juice.
I drink fruit juice, limited quantity, no more than 2 glasses of 8 ounce.
I will wait half an hour before switching to vegetable juice (2 8 oz glass max). I drink as much potassium broth as I want. I add protein powder to the juice or the broth. In the afternoon I take a tablespoon of freshly ground flax seed with a drink.
3rd day Wednesday
By this day my bowels feel empty and I am very comfortable.
First thing in the morning I drink a lemon juice flush.
I take a high garlic enema. I have little or no difficulty in taking all 3 enemas of 2 quarts. I try to retain the enemas for 3 to 4 minutes before expelling.
I drink fruit juice 2 8-oz glasses maximum.
I wait half an hour before switching to vegetable juice and limit it to 2 cups. Also I drink potassium broth as much as I want with added protein powder.
In the early afternoon I take a tablespoon of freshly ground flax seed with a drink.
In the evening, I take a 2 cup coffee retention enema.
4th day Thursday
The cleansing action of this fast is over and I am working toward rebuilding my body.
First thing in the morning I drink a lemon juice flush.
I take a high garlic enema. I make sure that I take all 3 enemas of 2 quarts with retention.
I drink fruit juice, limited quantity.
I wait an hour before switching to vegetable juice (2 8 oz glass max) I drink potassium broth, as much as I want
I take one tablespoon of freshly ground flax seed with the drink.
I also drink potassium broth with added protein powder
In the early afternoon I take a second tablespoon of freshly ground flax seed with a drink.
In the evening, I take a 2 cup coffee retention enema.
5th day Friday .
I am working toward rebuilding my body.
First thing in the morning I drink a lemon juice flush.
The I take a high garlic enema making sure that I take all 3 enemas of 2 quarts.
I drink fruit juice, limited quantity.
I take one tablespoon of freshly ground flax seed with the juice.
I wait an hour before switching to vegetable juice. Also I drink potassium broth as much as I want.
In the early afternoon I take a second tablespoon of freshly ground flax seed with a drink.
In the evening I .take a 2 cup coffee retention enema
I go to bed earlier than usual and try to sleep as much as possible.
I have now completed this fast.
For the next 2 days, first thing every morning, I drink a glass of lemon juice flush and every night before going to bed I take 2 capsules of Cascara Sagrada.
If I do not have bowel movements within 2 days after the fast, I take a small enema to stimulate my bowels. I would normally have daily 2 or more bowel movements. I keep a log of my bowel movements. If I find that I have less than 2 bms any day then I consider myself constipated and I take a small enema. Should I find myself being constipated several times a week then I take a cleansing soapsuds enema followed by a coffee retention enema once a week until my next fast. This lack of bowel movements indicates to me that my system needs additional cleansing. I wait a month or more and repeat the 5 day juice fast or go on a 5 day colon cleanse.
I find that doing the above fast brings down my blood sugar and my blood pressure. And if I stay on my strict diet and take all required supplements without deviation, the effects of this fast last for several months.
NOTES ON MY 5 DAY FAST
Hot Lemon juice flush.
Squeeze 1/2 lemon into 8 oz of hot water. Drink slowly.
Protein powder food supplement.
Depending on the brand and type of protein supplement, you need to take it daily during this fast at least 60% of the DAILY REQUIREMENT. This amount will give you sustenance and also keep your hunger under control.
Cleansing soapsuds enema consist of 2 bags of 2 quarts very warm soapy water. Use liquid castile soap (I prefer the peppermint scented soap),1 teaspoon per quart of water. Start by taking as much as you can possibly hold then evacuate your bowels on the toilet. When done evacuating, take another enema this time you should be able to accept more liquid. Try to retain it for 2 to 5 minutes. Evacuate and repeat until you have used up all 2 bags of 2 quarts. Then flush again with a plain water enema of 2 quarts to wash out all the soap from your bowls.
Deep cleansing soapsuds enema consist of minimum 3 bags of 2 quarts, starting with very warm water, 115 degrees F. Follow above instructions except that you need to keep taking a full 2 quarts enema until your stool is clear liquid with no solids. This may take 3 or more bags of 2 quarts. End with taking a 2 quart plain water enema to flush out the soap.
High garlic enema
Preparation of solution.
Prepare 1 cup of garlic concentrate. Crush 5 or 6 medium size garlic buds in 1 cup of cold water. You can use a small food processor or a blender or a pestle and mortar. When garlic is well blended into the liquid, strain the mixture and add enough water to make 2 quarts.
Prepare a total of 3 enemas of 2 quarts each. The first two enemas should be made using very warm water; the third should be made with cool (not cold) water to stimulate the colon.
Procedure
Start by slowly flowing the enema into your bowels until you have a strong urge to expel then stop the flow. Without changing position, take a deep breath and hold it for a few seconds, expel your breath. Repeat a few times. The urge should subside and you can continue to insert more fluid. Do this process every time you have an urge to expel. When the urge to expel does not go away it is time to expel. Try to retain the liquid for 3 - 4 minutes before expelling.
Repeat the above procedure until you have used up all 3 bags of 2 quarts each. This may take 5 or more sessions. On the last session you should insert the full 2 quarts. Do not cheat, use all 3 bags of enema completely.
Rest after expelling last enema. Note that on the first day of fast, this is the most difficult enema to take. On the second and subsequent days as your bowels get cleaned out, it gets easier to take and retain this enema. Note: it is a good idea between the end of the 2nd bag and before starting the 3rd bag to talk a short walk for relaxations.
Retention coffee enema (small volume)
Prior to taking a retention enema, it is always advisable to take 2 or more cleansing enemas.
When used as a retention enema, -coffee does not go through your digestive system and does not affect your body as a coffee beverage does. Instead, the coffee solution stimulates both your liver and your gallbladder to release toxins, which are then flushed from your body. This enema is most effective if repeated daily for several days.
Preparation of solution.
To make the coffee enema solution, place 2 quarts of water in a pan, and add 6 heaping tablespoons of ground organic coffee (do not use instant or decaffeinated). Rapid boil the mixture for three minutes, simmer for 15 to 20 minutes, cool to a comfortable tempera-ture, and strain. Add enough water to make the 2 quarts. Use only 1 pint of the strained coffee at a time, and refrigerate the remainder in a closed jar.
Procedure:
Place 1 pint of the enema solution in an enema bag. The best position to assume when receiving the enema is to lie on your left side. After you have inserted the liquid, hold the solution in your body for 10 minutes then very slowly and gently turn and rest on your back. Retain this enema for 20 to 30 minutes. before allowing the fluid be expelled. Do not roll from side to side.
Do not be concerned if the liquid is not expelled after 20 to 30 minutes. Simply stand up and move around as usual until you feel the urge to expel the liquid.
.Large volume Coffee Retention enema:
The large volume coffee retention enema may causes a reaction to coffee, You may get a buzz or get strung up and nervous. This enema has sufficient volume to reach, besides the rectum and the Sigmoid section, the transverse column. This can allow the coffee enema to produce the same reaction as if you drank several cups of coffee. If coffee does not affect you then there is no need to worry.
Preparation of solution.
Same as the small volume coffee retention enema but use 1 quart of the solution.
Procedure
When cool, fill the enema bag. Take this enema laying on your right side with your left knee close to your chest. Take the whole 1 quart. If the urge to expel is strong then stop the flow, and without changing position take a deep breath and hold for a few seconds, expel it and repeat a few times. The urge should subside and you can continue to insert more fluid. Repeat this process every time you have an urge to expel. In this manner you should be able to take the full 1 quart. You need to retain this enema for 15 minutes.
Expel and rest.
P & B shake or my PBC shake?
Less constipation, less gas and bad odor and taste better than a straight P&B shake.
What is my PBC shake?
I find it works better than a straight P&B shake; less constipation, less gas and bad odor, and taste better.
To make my PB&C shake:
4 oz fruit juice (prefer a sweet nectar)
8 oz pure water
1 teaspoon psyllium
2 tablespoons liquid bentonite
1 teaspoon chlorophyll
Mix in a jar and shake vigorously.
I used the following :
Fruit juice: apricot, mango, guava or other nectar
(makes it taste better)
Nature's Way Chlorofresh mint flavor
Yerba Prima psyllium husks powder
Yerba Prima Great Plains bentonite detox

Hi Paul nice to see you here
This is a great thread, I am planning to start with cleansing again. I was off of my diet for a long time and feel that is time to start again. I purchase some basic product from the net and in a week I am planning to start.
After reading your post, I'll definitely will do some post. You've gave me some interesting ideas.
I haven't heard about soapsuds enema for a long, long time. I remember first time hearing it from my grandmother. Since that time don't remember seeing anyone use it
I will definitely try coffee enema and garlic enema. Have to admit I've never done two or three bags in a row. Even that one was stressing to my body. I've tried ACV enema, but without success, couldn't handle it.
But, this time I'll start with garlic enema like you've suggested. I think that now being off my diet for a long time, I need to do some heavy cleaning.
Thanks for sharing with us your protocol.
Oh and BTW, I saw that you've signed up twice Once like Paul Azadian and second time like propaul. I figure you've must forgot about that. It's not a problem, just wanted to remind you
all the best,

Hi Ivana,
How are your dog(s)?
How do I get rid of Paul Azadian?
No, I not trying to muder myself but just to get rid of my double signup.
Today is the last day of my 3 day fast. A shortened 5 day fast but otherwise the same.
I have found for me, that the best cleansing enema is a soapsuds enema. I have tried lemon juice, ACV, other acidic solution and found that my intestines do not like acidic solutions. So when you wrote that ACV irritated your colon maybe you have the same characteristics as I have in respect to acid in your colon. Soapsuds is slightly alkaline. Garlic if concentrated can be acidic. By the way in a recent nurse's manual, I don't remember which one, it mentionned that soapsuds enemas will cleanse out better than many others. I will find and reproduce the article here.
I will try to help the forum and try to answer colon/liver cleansing questions. I will also import from CureZone some of my messages.
I am very surprised that Shelley left. I am sure that there are a number of your members that are quite capable on giving instruction and guidance.
I wish you the very best of life.

Thisis the excerp from a nurse's training handbook
Soapsuds enema
As Schmelzer et al. describe it, the ideal enema would effectively cleanse the colon with minimal side effects, essentially the same as the goal of the colonic irrigation. Enemas, like colonics, cleanse the colon by stimulating propulsion and secretion. The relevant factors include enema volume, the presence of chemical irritants, and the osmolality or tonicity of the solution. The instillation of a large fluid volume into the colon stimulates propulsion; this is especially relevant to colonic irrigations which typically use pure tap water with a larger fluid volume than enemas. Chemical irritants stimulate both propulsion and secretion to rapidly empty the colon; using a hypertonic solution to draw fluid from the body into the colon through osmosis, and directly irritating the mucosa are the principles of the popular Fleets sodium phosphate enema. Soapsuds enemas use the principles of high volume and chemical irritation.
Schmelzer et al. (2000) found that soapsuds enemas produced significantly greater output than tap water and were equally well tolerated. Most subjects who received tap water enemas retained more fluid than was eliminated. Based on these findings, they advised that nurses should use caution when giving repeated enemas to patients sensitive to large fluid loads. This is relevant to the question of the fluid load resulting from a colonic irrigation, in which a larger volume of water is used than in the typical enema.

Hi Paul so glad you are here and sharing with us.
Like Ivana I have been less than stellar with my diet lately.
I have recently started a series of progressive fasts, and am enjoying it and making progress.
I will be incorporating the soap suds enema in my protocol.
I did want to ask what temperature range (how warm?)
I have had a problem with going too warm in the past.
Your lemon juice flush. I love that it is a staple to me.
Good luck with achieving your goals!
Be well Paul,

Hi Harmony,
I usually like to take it around 107 debgrees at the start and let it cool down to 103 for the second round. If the solution is too cold you will get bad cramps and not be able to insert the full quantity.
Good luck and be healthy and happy. Enjoy life.

Paul,
I wanted to thank you for posting your enema protocols. They are very user-friendly and easy to follow.
I just finished doing my first coffee enema. I did 2 bags of soapsuds prior. However, I was only able to retain the coffee enema for about 10 minutes. I was doing fine and then had a sudden strong urge to expel, and just couldn't hold it any longer. Is it still effective, or must one hold it for 15 minutes to get any benefits?
I am doing my third liver flush tomorrow. I am considering doing another coffee enema tomorrow afternoon before the flush, but I'm wondering if this will be too much. I guess I will see how I feel.
Thanks again. |

Hi Cjb,
Holding the coffee enema for 10 minutes is better than no retention. All your blood flows through your liver every 6 minutes (approx.). So even 6 minutes retention would be okay.
I take a 2 cup coffee retention enema between my two doses of Epson salts before the Olive Oil/Grape fruit- Lemon juice. This is not essential at all but I feel that it makes my liver flush more successful.
What I feel is most important is the preparation to the liver flush: doing a stone softning protocol with a very complete bowel management.
Also the morning after the flush I take a big dose of Epson salts to cleanse out all the "junk" dumped into my bowels from the flush. During the following 3 days I take twice a day enemas and find that I expel a whole lot more "junk" from the liver flush. My belief is that the liver will keep on "flushing" for a few days after the initial flush. Hope all this helps.

Thanks, Paul.
Maybe I'll try the coffee enema after my epsom salts as you do.
I have been doing very thorough bowel management and drinking fresh apple juice and apple cider vinegar, so I feel well-prepared. |

Hi Cjb,
Just a short note. Not everyone gets “stones” out from a liver flush. If the liver flushes out old residue of toxins (could be in many forms, I usually see a slurry) you can consider it successful.
Yes, I am sure that you are well prepared for the flush. One more point, try to be relaxed during the flush. I have found that tension, for whatever reason, does not help the flush.
I wish you a very successful flush!
