| ok since i started taking kefir a couple of weeks ago i seem to be feeling a lot worse and im not sure whether its die off or not. I have literally been wiped out i am spending at least 3 hours a day in bed, hivs have come out all over my forehead. my eyes are birhgt red and the crunching and crackling has come back in my neck? what do you think? die off or allergenic reaction to the goats milk i reincorporated into my diet. mmmm i hope i can keep taking this stuff i have heard so many good things. |

To know for sure whether it's die-off or allergic reactions you have to do kinesiology. I don't like the sound of the red eyes, that is usually allergy and liver stress. So do the arm test and see whether kefir makes you stronger or weaker, okay? |

| well im not really clued up on the whole kinesiology thingy but im just wondering whether or not the liver stress is just due to all the toxins being released... mm it has made me feel really bad though, will i have undone all my good work by expoing myself to something i am allergic to? maybe i can make my kefir with coconut milk? or does this kill the kefir grains?? |

heh, it takes awhile to undo the good you've done so far! so no worries about that.
If you're not comfy with kinesiology, then do the pulse test. Take your resting pulse prior to the kefir and write it down. Take it again 30 minutes, 1 hour and 2 hours after the kefir. If it changed more than 10%, chances are you're allergic.
I don't think coconut milk will work, it doesn't have lactose which is what the kefir grain organism likes to eat and ferment. I've heard of people using plain water but I don't know if that works. I'd use cow milk before I'd use plain water. |
