I would like to make kefir from goat milk. But all the milk in the stores is pasturized. All the books I read say you have to you raw milk. If I make it out of the Pasturized milk am I wasting my time? What is the big deal? I understand why pasturization is bad, but with kefir my purpose is microbes.
Thanks
katie

I guess if you're not diary intolerant you can give it a try.

There are plenty of people who use pasteurized milk when making kefir, myself included. The one thing I've found is that whole milk is best (I haven't tried goat's milk yet). Definitely try it.

Great. Now where can I buy the kefir packets? Or can I just buy the already made stuff here and put some in the goats milk?
