Shelley,
I read somewhere on here about chewing raw rice and garlic. I have been all concerned about my congee because about 5-10 kernels out of the bunch dont always get mushy with the rest of the batch. Even after 12 hours. I thought those raw kernals might be a huge problem for digestion. Then I read about chewing raw rice and thought maybe I am wrong?

If kernals are raw, it means you won't get any nutrition out of them. They'll just pass thru whole.
